WOW. I never feel compelled to write bad reviews about places I visit but my last visit to Pura Vida left a horrible taste in my mouth (quite literally). I am a Miami Beach native and have been coming to Pura Vida for many years. Over the past few years or so, I have noticed a steady decline in the quality of their food and overall service- as well as a steep increase in their prices.
Today I went in to get a matcha latte before going in to work. Their staff is pretty unimpressive which is consistent with my experience at other Pura Vida locations, but this is something I typically overlook. After spending a whopping $12.50 on a latte, (this included honey as sweetener, tax, and a service charge that was tacked on despite me asking for my latte to go) I was expecting this to be the best matcha latte I’ve ever had.
After taking the first sip of my latte, I was enraged. I am no stranger to what a matcha latte tastes like- I drink them every single morning. My latte tasted (no lie) like creamed spinach. It was hands down the worst matcha latte I’ve ever tasted in my life. Why was the latte (that I paid extra to be sweetened) taste savory? It was grainy, had a really foul aftertaste, and honestly not on par with my past experiences at the establishment.
I left the restaurant feeling beyond scammed and forced myself to drink every last sip because it was so unreasonably expensive. And for a restaurant that has built its brand on being health-centric with fresh ingredients, they could really use some better quality matcha powder and real syrups for their lattes instead of the pre-packaged Monin pumps that are full of...
Read moreOne of the Money Trees stuff today he was very unrespectable after I went to pick up in order and the order it was delayed like about 45 minutes and I was waiting and one of the stuff asked me to move back and wait on the back he said can we help you with a order and I respond to stuff he was behind the counter yes I need to respond how long more the order is going to take to be make and she asked me how can I help and I asked him back are you going to make the order or in one of the managers respond back to me that I chewed on on respect the the crew members or staff because I asked him and she was going to make the order and one of the managers came up and tell me that I was on respectable to them to the crew member they want to ask me to help me up and I respond to her she was going to help me out but she's going to make the order and after that the other manager member crew on the location asked me to leave because I was on respectful to the crew member because you're asking if he was going to make the order and he asked me if you don't leave it's going to call the security and remove me for a restaurant so I went outside cancel the order and he still come back when I was outside on the parking lot counseling the order is still insulting me and tell me telling me that I was not going to be able to go back to the location because I was on respectful and I get a little bit upset but I cancel the order and I left location it was 1940 Alton Road I don't have any pictures but I don't think it's got to be working like the rent he has to be treating over...

The items I ordered were good. Overpriced of course but everything is in Miami honestly! When I ordered I used two different cards one was my corporate card which has a breakfast limit then I put the excess on my personal card.
My my my was I shocked on Monday when my corporate card posted for a different amount. So I reached out via chat because you can't speak to these people via phone (makes sense why with their unethical behavior). So after chatting it was determined that extra raw honey was randomly added to my order after I paid and got my receipt. Crazy because going in a system and changing a receipt after a person checks out is probably illegal!
Of course all 3 agents I speak with including customer service manager Katie act like this is no issue at all. The accounting department was supposed to contact me and they still haven't, but Katie now says they don't contact customers. Go figure! Be careful with this place and keep your receipts just in case they try something funky. Then to try and offer me $5 to make up for the fraud is crazy it's the principle of the situation. I don't live there so why would I care about $5 more to give them when they completed fraud on my company credit card?!
