HAIR IN MY CHICKEN & WAFFLES. I really hate to leave such a horrible review because I absolutely love Tap 42 but I had such a horrible experience yesterday. I come back from NY and talked my husband into going after finally circling the black for a parking spot we are sat inside which we requested and our server comes over he takes our drink order and then it takes him a long time to come and bring the drinks. Once he does we order and it takes a long time for the food to come but no worries we were patient. I was craving the chicken and waffles finally the food came out, a different person brought majority of our food and then our server came by and quickly dropped of our fries and he has other food for another table In his hand so he did not ask us did we need anything else he just kept walking. Mind u we needed syrup and ketchup. Anywho, they stack the chicken and waffles so I always remove them and thank god I did there was a piece of hair stuck into my waffle. I looked around for my server he was again no where to be found. So after looking around and sitting there unable to eat for 15mins I see another server and I asks her can she get my server still another 10 mins goes by finally I get up and I go to the host stand and asks to speak to a manager. Maybe 5 mins then here the server comes out, talking about he was in the bathroom. He’s been working since 10am blah blah blah that has nothing to do with you asking us did we need anything else before you disappeared. Like I’m sorry but I really don’t want to hear you spent almost 25 mins in the bathroom when I’m about to eat. I show him the hair and he takes the chicken and waffles and then the manager comes out and he was nice. I still wanted my chicken and waffles and was willing to pay for them but he said he would remake them and take them Off the bill. The server came back and apologized and offered us a free Dessert. Very disappointed, I’m just disgusted by the hair and just the overall experience. The Manager said they were busy WHERE? And this is the service I get all the time yesterday was just worst and usually the food is so good I don’t care how bad the service is. But normally they leave and don’t come check on the table often. Idk if it’s because maybe they have tables inside and out but it’s really ridiculous and they need...
Read moreSo this was our first time eating out at Tap 42!! It was my husband & I & our 2 yr old son! The hostess sat us in a booth area & there was space to park our stroller haha! Our waiter Roland was the best! He was very chill & didn’t put a lot of pressure on us which is a plus in our book! We took our time to look over the menus! For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Asian Calamari Tower & the Spinach & Artichoke Dip! They were both delicious! I mean Delicious to the point where we could just eat that & be set! But ofcourse we had to get the full experience haha! We ordered the Truffle Mac n Cheese for our boy & he didn’t complain (he’s picky about his Mac haha). So I haven’t had an Espresso Martini in about 9 years & thought why not drink one now! I ordered theirs & the woman bartender made the most balance one!! It was so pleasant! My husband ordered the Spicy GreenGo classic w Cbd shot! It was a great drink as well! Next we’re entrees! I ordered the Truffle Filet Steak Sandwich & my husband got the Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles! The sandwich was delicious, I couldn’t really finish it because the bread was thick so I just ate the filet & cheese! My husband finished his the best he could haha! The extra drinks we got were the Frozen Mango Margarita & the Toasted Coconut Margarita! I took a sip of my coconut marg & realized it just wasn’t my vibe! Luckily Roland was kind enough to allow us to order a different drink to replace it & that’s when I order the Under The Influencer Classic!! Now that was a beautiful drink! If you’re into pineapple & having the smell of sage as your sipping!! Then this drink is for you! It felt so calming every sip haha! My husbands drink was refreshing too! Roland came by & asked if we liked Passionfruit & we were like yeah sure! & he then gave us a free Passionfruit Mojito with mint garnish & rum base! That drink was equally as delicious & we actually paid for an extra one haha! Let just say we were having a great time at Tap 42! Overall this place deserves 5 stars! The DJ named Alex was playing all the millennial songs which made the vibe more enjoyable x10! We will definitely eat here again!! To everyone at Tap 42, Keep up the Great work!! We appreciate you! If you’re looking for a place to eat in midtown Miami, TAP 42 should be on your bucket list! Thankyou &...
Read moreI am surprised by some of the reviews of bad service. I usually go at least once or twice a month to this location, and have never had an issue with any of the staff, ever, and have gone during the busiest times and quietest times, so this surprises me. I do recall on one occasion where 3 or 4 of the staff were gossiping around the cash/check out and was wondering if they were aware we could hear what they were saying, our booth was right next to it. They were speaking to each other the way they would on a Fri night happy hour--except, you are at work and people can hear you. The food selection is great---I have tried most of the menu (I know, nothing to brag about!! :) but I inevitably get the chicken fingers platter or their burger. Their guacamole is delicious also. I've also never had an issue with any of the food I have ordered. I do suggest for their Sunday brunches that their filter some of the music that BLASTS from there--there are kids around and some of the lyrics I've heard have been a little too much for a Sunday midday stroll, particularly for young kids walking with their parents, just some courtesy.
Also the happy hour portions are generous and totally price appropriate. Try the delicious Peachy Lychee drink, a nice little spin --- but get it from Zack, who is super awesome and cool, he will totally will make you feel at home if you are by yourself at the bar, or leave you alone if you aren't in the mood for chit chat-the...
