I give this hotel 2 stars only because the front desk and bar staff are relatively friendly and helpful. As far as the Yotel Pad 2 bedroom goes...disappointed is an understatement.
The room clearly had not been cleaned recently, it was full of IKEA-esque furnishings, the carpets and floors were filthy with visible debris of all sorts, the white walls are stained and scratched almost everywhere you look, there is no microwave (as advertised), the oven smells like something crawled in and died, there are strange odors everywhere, and the hallway carpet on the 25th floor looks like it has never been shampooed...and it desperately needs to be.
Additionally, there are no live people answering the guest services line, only an automated IVR that hangs up when you request a representative. The elevators are also a little more complicated than necessary. Long story shorter, if you have a hotel budget of $800 for 2 nights, your money will be better spent anywhere else. I booked the Yotel pad for 2 nights but checked out after the first night because it was not worth the cost or headache…they had the audacity to charge me $412 for the night yet did not send anyone to clean the room upon my request and offered no accommodations for the the disgust and inconveniences I dealt with.
I checked out after one night and ended up going to the Hilton Garden Inn Dolphin Mall for the remainder of my stay. The accommodations here are exceptional, the rooms and amenities are stellar, and it is half the price of the Yotal Pad. If you are simply looking for shelter, the Yotel may work for you. However, if you are looking for cleanliness, quality, and standards…avoid this place...
Read moreUnfortunately, we did not have a great stay at YotePAD Miami.|- Our room was not ready when we arrived at about 4:30 PM, despite previous communications stating our room would be ready by 3PM. When we arrived, we were made to wait for our room without being given a reason. Due to the time of our arrival, the room should have been ready by 3PM.|- When our room was finally ready, we entered our room to be surprised by a maintenance man walking out of the bedroom area towards the kitchen phone. He then proceeded to continue working on the phone for about five to ten minutes. The gentleman did not say a word or apologize for being in our room when we entered. It was quite a surprise to have a stranger in the room that was supposedly ready for us. After he left, the phone was still inoperative.|- The last problem we had, and the most frustrating for us, was the room layout. We were expecting to have a room with a bed, and a murphy bed in the living room area. Needless to say, there was no murphy bed, but instead just a futon in the living room. There weren't even linens or pillows for the futon; we had to ask for them. The futon was not anything anyone could sleep on. The futon was so worn and saggy that when we tried to sleep on it, all you could feel were the frame bars without any cushioning (see pics). This was completely unacceptable as we were not able to sleep on it at all. For a family of four to be forced to sleep on a queen/king bed was unacceptable. ||All this to say, be ready for...
