I absolutely love massages and get them periodically. While traveling on vacay my wife and I decided to spend the last few hours we had in Miami and indulge ourselves. I was quite pleased that the front desk girl said she could accommodate a couples massage AND we could pay cash (just won a good deal of money at the casino). The check in was rather smooth. We were led to 2 separate rooms although there was an open door where I could see my wife. Still no issues. The issues began with the actual massages. It was literally the worst one Iād ever had. Ever. It felt rushed. I have no idea what sort of technique was being used. I get Swedish massages all the time and this was straight trash. There was nothing soothing or relaxing other than the temperature. I kept thinking maybe Iām just a little tense and was trying to force myself to relax. Before I knew it, the massage was over and the masseuse said I could get dressed and walked out. Not that I want much interaction, but there was literally none. Didnāt ask if the pressure was ok, if I was comfortable or anything. I initially assumed I just had bad experience but as the other gentleman left my wife literally had the same experience! She said she kept thinking that she no longer wants the guy to even touch her any more due to the experience being less than desired. After the massages I go to pay with cash. Front desk girl says she didnāt have enough change. I say just give the 2 masseurs an extra tip on top of what I had already planned to give and only give me back $20. She said she could t give them too money from the drawer full of cash in front of her and she just didnāt have the proper change. I asked if she couldnāt to the store next door to get change. She simply said she couldnāt leave. So I just put it on my card which was more annoying than anything. Donāt tell me I can pay in cash and then not allow me to pay in cash. She didnāt even know what HSA was but itās clearly listed on the website that itās an acceptable form of payment.They persuaded me to get a membership which Iām not mad about because hey itās theyāre job to upsell stuff. However she told me I had a grace period of 3 days to cancel. I come in the next day to do a facial and decided to cancel because it wouldnāt work with my traveling schedule and the $5 charge to pause each month wasnāt worth it to me. They tell that they canāt cancel because the manager is the only one that can do but heās not picking up because he has Saturdays off. How is it that Iām paying money but itās dependent on someone elseās availability that doesnāt work on Saturdays. I made the girl at the desk keep calling him because I wasnāt going to check out with a contract that Iād be stuck in if he decided not to contact me. Finally after 3 calls he finally picked up and cancelled me. I received no receipt and no apologies for the inadequate system that they have to accommodate guest. I was presented with a giftcard to come in for a prenatal massge as a gift back in Feburary 2022. The massage therapist I had was amazing to the point I wanted to go above and beyond to tip her. I had to use my Mastercard to cover the tip portion. While checking out the agent at the front desk mentioned that they had a membership promo and asked me would i like to sign up, after conversation I let the agent know that I was not interested and left. Come to find out they charged my card the $85 anyway. I called them and my bank to have the charge removed and dispute the transaction because I did not sign up or agree to a membership. The agent that did it got fired as well ( go figure). I called my bank and they asked me to reach out to them first. BIG MISTAKE. they had me sign a "cancellation" form in order to "start the process" for my refund. (never do this this is how they get you) they submitted my signature to my bank as if i agreed to the membership and submitted it and it was CHARGED BACK to my Credit card!! I called over 5 times and have yet to get a call back from a manager or corp. I work in spa on south beach so i know how this goes.
