I fell in love with this place years ago. And I had recommended this place to several people and usually bring new people when i visit. And when I do, I usually drop a couple 100. This was the first chocolate that I actually enjoyed. A year ago I finally had time to sign up and pre paid for their Harry Potter pairing. But, an unexpected event made me call and cancel. The owner was nice enough to say, that because they don't give refunds, that she would give me instore credit. I was very grateful for that. I live over an hour away, so there was months that went by before when I had returned. I was surprised that they had no record of anything of this credit, and the owner wasn't there to address this matter. And the employee told me that they have a new system, so it could of been losted. That didnt matter I still dropped around $300. So, I figured next time. Yesterday, I brought a friend for a pairing and to purchase some gifts. This time the owner was there. She did come over and talked with me. The talk was awkward, mainly because she didn't remember or have record of anything I was talking about. She didn't even remember who I was and said that she meets a lot of people. Which came off rude. But, she was nice enough to say, that she would take my word for it and give me $70 credit. Very kind of her. Then there was a lot of whispering between her and employees while looking over at us. Which was making it weird. And when I finally went to pay, I was shocked that i didnt have any credit. The employee said that the owner never told her anything and of course the owner left. Very unprofessional. The owner makes very good chocolate but her people skills need work. Sadly because the way this went down, I will not be returning. Thanks Julie for that $70 credit. Which got lost...
Read moreI scheduled by email a 5 Wine & Chocolate Flight Tasting for a surprise birthday event with 28 attendees . Julie responded promptly and answered all my questions. 18% gratuity is automatically added with groups of 6 or more. No down payment was needed for the reservation and everyone was able to pay up individually on the day of the event. She even informed me of the non-alcoholic option for a pregnant friend in our party to do a chocolate and cheese tasting.
On the day of, everything was prepared for us 30 minutes in advance. The ambiance was classy and the plating was delicious to the eyes, as well as to the other senses. Our crowd is definitely a rambunctious group. I feel bad that we were quite loud, but the two hostesses were graciously patient, giving us tidbits about each portion and allowing us plenty of time to socialize, nibble, and drink. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone for a date night, party/event, girls night, or for a low key experience of trying something new.
Please note: WALK-INS ARE ENCOURAGED. I made a reservation because I knew we would be taking up the entire shop. They can comfortably fit about 25 people, but could probably fit 30 if you don't mind the squeeze. They have two other locations that may be able to...
Read moreVery disappointed in the service. I brought a friend from out of town to a tasting here and having gone to a few before, I expected a good experience. Well in the middle of the tasting, my friend had a question; she asked and was rudely snapped at. The girl with the nose piercing and colored hair made numerous rude, snippy comments to her before continuing. It was very uncalled for and honestly turned us both off and we left shortly after. I really enjoyed these but after that experience will not bring my friends there again, embarrassing... Also, before the tasting started, I had been standing at the front waiting to purchase some chocolate because I know there can be a line after. I waited for a good few minutes while one of the employees just stood there. She told me that they were about to start and to sit down. It would have taken maybe a minute to get my small order, especially since I had been waiting for awhile while...
