The Catacombs of Neto /Las Catacumbas de Neto Art Museum — Attraction in Milwaukee

Being a non-artist, I am often intimidated when attending art museums and galleries. However, the Catacombs of Neto is unlike any art experience I've ever had. The space itself is both warm and cozy yet expansive and exciting. It is alive with color and sound making it inviting rather than intimidating. It urges you to keep going to find something new, delightful and surprising around every corner. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and welcoming (they are also bilingual).

It was fascinating to gain this glimpse into the artist's journey through his own creative process -- from an idea/inspiration, to a rough draft in a sketch book, to the final magnificent work of art. Neto truly is "an alchemist of the paintbrush and gardener of artistic seeds!"

The colorful paintings, detailed sculptures and surprising mixed media pieces are wonderfully conducive to not only understanding Neto's artistic expressions, but inspiring others to explore their own creative development. I left feeling energized and empowered to...

We had the pleasure of visiting The Catacombs of Neto this weekend during the art fair! What a gorgeous space with beautiful lighting and a wide range of art pieces, and jewelry as well!

We were able to talk with the artist - Neto as he explained his inspiration for many pieces we were interested in. We purchased this gorgeous piece which is named “Raindrops” and its story is from a trip Neto experienced in Africa. It’s a gorgeous piece and we cannot wait to hang it in our home!
