This facility is a shelter for homeless adults, of which I officially became on Feb. 28. I had 6 operations last year resulting in both my legs being off above the knee and those kinds of surgeries really take a toll on the body. So much so that I was unable to keep up with the housework. This occurred on a previous occasion, also post-op with my first amputation. This public housing authority seems to lack basic compassion and they evicted me on the basis of not keeping the crib in a tidy fashion. Let me say that mopping the floor in a wheelchair is an exercise in futility! So, for me Our Savior's is a haven. I no longer have much of anything in the way of personal property as I was able to take only what I could pack on my wheelchair. Everything else is gone. I'm nearly 71 now and have had 76 operations and can no longer do many of the things that they demanded so I was put out on the street. I spent that first night on the air exchanger at The Capital Grill and went to the hospital the next day. In all I spent 8 days in-patient and have been here since the 8th. And damn glad they had a bed for me! I really can't say enough about...

This was the second time, after writing about the government. See my new book, "There Are Three Truths" on Amazon. This shelter and Catholic Charities are involved. I thank them for what help they gave me, but how do you be legitimately thankful when they showed they were a part of the scheme? Legal Aid came to their defense, instead of mine. Apparently, she didn't know how much I knew about law, as a paralegal student. They could sue me. After all, I...
Read moreThis is a great shelter but I have to speak the truth when I first got to the shelter in 2024 it wasn't a pleasant experience. The room they put me in was dirty and the blankets was dirty. The old staff they had some of them was very useless. GOD is so good tho because he remodeled the shelter in 2025 and all those useless staff are gone. We have awesome new rooms. We have awesome new staff and Cassie is just the best. She had my back from day one when I got to the shelter and guess what I came on her birthday may 8..GOD is wonderful. I'm truly blessed that GOD send me to this...
