I came in here wanting to find out about possibly selling some instruments. I had checked in at a different shop in town and they said they don't purchase instruments but to come here. I come here and walk up to the counter with a bass in a soft case and a guitar in a hard case and say I wanted to find out about possibly selling some instruments. Guy behind the counter says, in the snobbiest tone of voice, "Well, you have to open the cases first."

Well. I didn't know if this shop purchases, since I thought the last place I stopped at did, only to find out they don't. I wanted to ask first instead of walking in and shoving my instruments in your face.

Instead, this particular person insisted on seeing my instruments only to then waste our time telling me my instruments aren't worth what I paid for them (at a reputable shop in Minneapolis) because he just googled some ebay listings while I was standing there and that they aren't actually buying right now anyway because they have no room.

Dude, if you weren't interested in my gear you could have just said that.

I have no kind words to say about this employee nor this establishment and would highly recommend...

I just purchased an electronic drum kit from these guys and Checkers was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just a general joy to work with!

I had stopped drumming years ago and wanting to get back into it, needed the ENTIRE setup. Checkers (an obnoxiously great drummer himself) expertly guided me through what I needed. He listened to my questions and concerns with patience and then proceeded to guide me in the right direction. He wasn't constantly trying to up-sell me on anything I didn't need but also made sure to give me all the right information to make the decision that would work best for my situation.

Lastly, since I bought so much stuff they worked with me quite a bit on pricing and I left feeling very well taken care of. I even gave them an extra $20 at the end of everything just because they were doing so much to help me out!

I love supporting local businesses like this over big box stores or internet ordering and it's experiences like this that truly make it worth while. Thank you very much Checkers and Electronic Sound and Percussion. You guys...

I have spent decades touring the music stores of America and ESP is one of the greatest examples of dedicated musicians providing great information and instruments. This place is truly a community service as much as a business. Thanks to Paul, my acoustic guitar that played so poorly is now a dream. Dave has sold me a 'string' of wonderful electric guitars. Somehow Checkers sold me three drum kits as gifts for my wife before I accepted the fact that she isn't going to be a drummer - great salesmanship! The ambiance alone is worth the visit from the vintage shag carpet in the teaching rooms to the vintage instruments, to the history of local bands lining the walls. Thanks guys for being here for Missoula musicians! Oh, and you have the best guitar teacher in town...
