I was very excited to visit Coni and Franc as their website highlighted they have pieces that range from $50-$5000 and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
My negative experience began as soon as I walked in the door. When I walked in, everyone was so busy that I had to go out of my way to introduce myself and tell them I had an appointment. There were about 3-4 other brides there throughout my appointment.
I explained that I loved more plain, elegant dresses. Not a huge fan of sparkle, lace, etc but willing to try stuff on. I was instructed look through the dresses (that are sorted by designer) and pick what I liked- not to worry about price. After I picked out 3-5 dresses, I had to find my consultant to ask if we should start trying dresses on. She seemed very distracted.
When we walked back to the fitting room, my consultant already had a dress sitting out for me to try on (not a dress that I had picked out). Overall, I think I got to try on 1-2 of the dresses we personally picked out. To put this in perspective I would say my consultant made my try on around 12-15 dresses. My mom & guests had also picked out a couple dresses for me to try on. At one point, my mom walked up to my consultant and pointed at a dress and said "we picked this out for her, we would like for her to try it on." The consultant responded with "no" and went to pick out more dresses that she liked. She was not focused on what I liked, but instead kept picking things out she thought would look good on me (not plain and elegant but dresses filled with sparkles and features I had explicitly told her I didn't like).
A couple dresses in, she remembered to ask what by budget was. When I told her around $1000, she said "oh, we're going to have to put a lot of these back. I didn't know that was your price range." She left to grab a dress in my price range and came back with the most embarrassing dress I've ever seen. I felt like I was on house hunters (when they show the house buyers a really terrible house in their price range to show that they'll need to spend more money lol). One of the other consultants walked by while I was trying this dress on and said "oh wow" with her eyebrows arched in surprise. I was humiliated.
The last dress I tried on was exactly what I was looking for. It was beautiful and elegant. The consultant begged me to try it on because it would look so beautiful on me. I tried it on and loved it. It was almost triple my price range. I went out in the dress and she made me put on a veil and everyone loved it. She asked who in the group was my mom (this was the first time she actually interacted with any of my guests besides telling my mom no as mentioned earlier). When my mom raised her hand, she said "oh great, well I wanted to let you know we do have layaway and payment programs if you decide on this dress!" No regard for the fact that my mom was not paying for my dress. & it's not that I can't pay for a dress that price, I just have no desire to spend that much on a dress. But my reasoning for my price range should not matter and I should not have been asked to try on a dress that expensive. I felt very disrespected and unheard throughout my whole appointment.
In hindsight, I should have walked out of my appointment. I hope that going forward, Coni & Franc make sure to treat their guests with respect no matter what their price range is and what...

I grew up visiting Morgantown and later attended WVU. Through all those years, I loved staring at the gorgeous wedding dresses in Coni and Francâs windows. I knew when it was time to search for my wedding gown, Coni and Franc had to be my first stop. It turned out to be the only stop because they accommodated every need.
I made my first visit in the spring of 2024 for my June 2025 wedding. Connie was the first to help me, asking for my bridal vision and inspiration pictures. She let me peruse the racks and decide which dresses I was most interested in trying, encouraging a variety of styles, silhouettes, and fabrics. As I tried on each dress, she was constantly listening for my feedback and gauging my reactions. Towards the end of the appointment, I had parts of different dresses I liked (a neckline, fabric, silhouette, floral detail, etc.), but had not tried on âthe oneâ yet. Almost like a miracle worker, Connie ran to the racks and pulled two dresses that were exactly what I had described and envisioned - the perfect combination of all my favorite parts of the other dresses. After trying both, there was a clear winner and I had found my dream wedding dress on my first visit to a bridal salon.
The following month, I returned to pick all my accessories including a veil, hair accessory, jewelry, and shoes. I made a few more visits over the next year to finalize my exact look, even down to the ladies at the store turning a set of bracelets into a custom necklace and helping me pick the best undergarments for the cut of my dress. Every person I worked with was personable, communicative, and dedicated to helping me look and feel my best for my special day.
If you are looking for your dream bridal gown or any special event outfit, please support this small business because they will take care of you like one of their own!

Read moreMy best friends wedding was in August and due to the lack of employee understanding, customer service, and all around ability of Connie and Franc to help; it was a stressful disaster. While our bride already had her dress that she found somewhere else (thank goodness), the bridal party still needed all of their dresses. The dresses were all ordered around January 22-25. It took until June 3rd to get them in and be able to go try them on to see what alterations needed made. Two of the bridesmaid dresses were ordered MULTIPLE sizes too big and the junior bridesmaid dress was ordered in a kids size rather than a size for a 13 year old. So now my friend was left with the problem of figuring out how to alter two dresses multiple sizes smaller AND dealing with a dress that wonât fit at all because it was ordered entirely too small. FINALLY, Connie of Connie and Franc agreed to reorder the dress in the appropriate size but it wouldnât arrive until 10 days before the wedding which was entirely worrisome because of what was already happening. Days later, they finally agreed to do the alterations on one of the other dresses but still tried to charge ridiculously to do so. Their seamstress even said it would be next to impossible to take a dress in that many sizes. After arguing with them for a while and rushing to get things taken care of it all ended up working out but it never should have happened in the first place. And when the mistake was made they should have owned up to it immediately and fixed it rather than trying to do the whole run around and place blame elsewhere. It was an all around terrible experience. Their reviews on Wedding Wire & The Knot provide similar experiences from other people. I wish we would have read reviews before deciding...
