Iâve been going to Square Luggage in Morristown, NJ for over 20 years nowâthis was probably my 4th visit, and once again, they went above and beyond. I first found them years ago because they were an authorized repair center, and theyâve always done outstanding work.
Most recently, I brought in my 7-year-old computer bag that I use for one-day business trips about 5â6 times a week. The wheels were shot, and the zipper needed replacing. I drove about 45 minutes from Newark to get there on a Tuesday, knowing theyâre closed Wednesdays, and explained to the owner, Al, that I wouldnât be able to come back for a while due to work.
Al was very accommodating, but explained honestly that the work would probably take a day or two. I told him I understood and would use my carry-on bag in the meantime.
So imagine my surprise when later that same afternoon I got a call saying my bag was already done and ready for pickup! The woman on the phone (also part of the family business) even picked up on how surprised I was and said, âYou mentioned how much you use it, so we wanted to get it back to you ASAP.â That level of customer care really blew me away.
Also, a helpful tip I just learned on this visit: they have parking in the back of the store! Thatâs a huge convenience because finding street parking with meters in that area is a hassle (as I experienced earlier that very day). Next time, Iâll go straight to the back.
As always, the price was very reasonable, and the quality of the repair was excellentâlike brand new. They only accept cash or checks, but they let you know that upfront, so itâs no issue at all.
I truly appreciate businesses like this: small, family-run, and deeply committed to their customers. If I could give them 6 stars, I would....
   Read moreHave two different size Travelpro Platinum 5 rollers from the early 2000's. On one bag, the wheels went bad on a big trip and melted the wheel inserts. This was in 2013. I haven't traveled much since then. When needing to travel, I'd move the remaining set of good wheels and inserts to the size bag I needed for the trip. Searched the internet for replacement parts but came up empty. Finally, looked at Travelpro's web site and started calling third party repair centers.
Thrilled that Square Luggage was my second call (got voicemail to 1st repair center). Later learned my call was taken by Albert on his day off (but in store catching up on repairs). Albert was sure he had wheels that fit and requested pictures of the inserts. After receiving pictures, he immediately called back (still on his day off) that he was pretty sure he had inserts.
With a trip coming up in a few days, I drove 90 minutes (one-way) on a frigid winter day after a snowstorm to his store. Albert was right. He had wheels and inserts. Looking over the bag, he found a big crack in a wheel insert that I thought was good and found one wheel housing was badly worn. Replaced those items too.

I have had an Eagle Creek backpacking set for probably twenty years now - a large backpacking backpack with a small pack that can detach from it for day trips and shorter excursions. I only trot out the larger pack when I am actually doing some longer term travel, but the daypack gets regular use even when I am at home. A couple of weeks back, I was dismayed to discover a large hole had developed at one of the seams. I rang Eagle Creek to find out if there were any repair options - they said there were and, to my surprise, they also told me that repair of the hole was likely still covered by warranty - all I had to do was pay for shipping for it to be sent in to my closest authorized repair location. That location turned out to be Square Luggage. I sent in my pack about a week ago and, again, to my surprise, have just now received it back with the seam securely sewn shut again. All in all I am extremely impressed - both by Eagle Creek's warranty and customer care, and by Square Luggage's prompt and thorough attention to my pack.
