I will not shop here ever again. As cute of a shop as it is, the staff is very discriminating to anyone coming in with kids. The fist experience I had with this, 2 weeks ago, my 8 year old daughter was with me shopping. She picked up a stuffed animal toy to show me, and the lady working there snatched it out of her hand shaking her head, telling her no, as she put it back. They followed us around the store as we shopped, and the place is NOT big at all. I purchased $100 of gifts and left.
I went back a week later, and my daughter wanted an ice cream from the freezer located right by the door when we came in. The lady working, immediately started watching me as I shopped, with a friend I brought in. Before I could even get past the front of the store, the lady told me that I need to pay for the ice cream. My daughter hadn’t even opened it and was simply happy to know that I was going to purchase it for her as I shopped. To please the woman, and get her eyes off of us as I continued to shop, I decided to just pay for the $3 ice cream. She told me she needed the wrapper, and gave me a napkin for the chocolate ice cream sandwich my daughter was holding. As I unwrapped it, gave it to her, and took my debit card out, she told me there’s a $5 minimum to purchase, now enforcing me to purchase more things to meet the requirement. I just can’t believe how rude these women have been. I am a local, I live in Mount Dora, I support the community. I hate to think that people travel to this beautiful “Hallmark movie” town and experience such unfriendly behavior from the...
Read moreThis shop has everything an entire family could want and at a very reasonable price. Plenty of options for my two 8yo's to choose from. They couldn't decide which of the two items they wanted to buy and the owner told them to just carry them both around while I shopped so that they had more time to decide. Most owners would try and convince a person to buy both but she was so good to them. I found some great souvenirs and even some cute clothes. Plenty of spices, sauces and cooking stuff for the man in your life as well as ice cream novelties (you HAVE to try the chocolate dipped frozen key lime pie), and adult (or kids) slushies. I have been in other boutique shops like this where they tend to frown on kids, but this one was super family friendly...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. When I was in here (I am totally Caucasian) with my mother (who is also totally Caucasian), I was treated like a valued customer. When I came in worth my Puerto Rican husband, and our children, we were told we could not use the bathroom, and treated like trash. There are too many places in this great community to recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and...
