To Whom It May Concern, It has become increasingly evident that the City Historic Board does not operate with fairness, consistency, or integrity in its decision-making. The board, which is entrusted with protecting the character of our community and upholding the standards of historic preservation, instead displays a pattern of favoritism and bias depending on who is making a request rather than what the request actually entails. Applicants are not treated equally. Such conduct does not reflect transparency, accountability, or respect for the community. The perception and reality of corruption erodes public trust and discourages residents and property owners from engaging in preservation efforts. Our community deserves better. A historic board should operate with impartiality, guided by clear standards, and with decisions rooted in fairness and the best interests of the public, not favoritism or hidden agendas. Until this board commits to accountability, transparency, and equal treatment for all applicants, its credibility and authority will remain in question. Respectfully, Resident...
