When I finally found an employee, I received extremely poor service! We were looking for shoes for an upcoming event. No employee could be found in mens shoes so I took a pic of the box of the shoe style we wanted, found the exact shoe(style, size, color) on their website and went to women's shoes, to find something for me. The employee there (Sage) was not helpful in the slightest. I explained the style I was looking for and ask for help in finding something to fit my needs. She pointed and said, "You could try looking over there." Then she walked away. (There were no other customers, so I don't know why she could not have at least feigned interest in helping me.) I looked at the displays for a few minutes, but when I could find nothing at I wanted, I went back over to her and ask if it were possible to order the men's shoes in store and have them shipped to my home. She said she could do that so I showed her the web ID and she proceeded to place my order. I reminded her about the FRIENDS discount that was posted around the store, as well as online. It wasn't until she handed me my receipt that I noticed I received no discount. When I asked about it, she said, "I forgot." She said the transaction would have to be canceled and redone in order to get the discount. She had to call over another employee to help her cancel the order and re-input the order again. It was a colossal waste of my time and I should have just ordered online myself. Lesson learned! Customer service here is not what it...
Read moreI bought a Belgique cookware set on sale Jan. 1, and today (three weeks later), one of the pans fell on the thick vinyl linoleum and one whole side just smashed. I called Macy's at Fashion Place and they told me I could exchange the pan. Went in with my receipt, customer service sent me upstairs, where they could not figure out how to exchange 1 pan from a set. Mind you, there are no serial numbers, just a basic sku for the set. Easiest thing in the world to take out one pot, exchange it, put the returned item in and mark the package as exchanged because of a defect. BUT NO. I had to drive across town to get my old set, sans box since I had not figured the product was so flimsy I'd be exchanging it right away. I packed it all up in a Blue Apron box, took it in and walked out with the new (heavy heavy) set. I'm 60. I don't want to haul pans back and forth all day. They have a weird box full of slightly used pans. I have a box of pans, too. But the point it, it would have made no difference to their inventory if they had opened the box, traded out the defective pan and then inventoried the box as returned, We both ended up with the same exact number of pans. It showed exactly the same in inventory, marking my receipt as exchanged for a different set. And they could have kept the box. All it did was kill two hours of my time, waste gas and make me haul the set both ways, aggravating my arthritis and me. I miss common sense, And customer service. And this Macy's will miss me. I am no...
Read moreI bought a mattress from the Macy's location at State Street in the Fashion Place Mall in Murray, Utah on about 4/23/2019. I exchanged the mattress for another mattress on 6/20/2019. Macy's picked up the old mattress from my house and brought a replacement mattress. The cost difference was approximately $2014.00 which Macy's owed me. After a month I contacted Macy's customer service about the refund of my money. Macy's sent me to their Macy's credit department. They were not helping me they were just bouncing me around to different people and I was not able to get anything resolved or any information besides I need to make a monthly payment or I would receive late fees. (Macy's owed me money??) I was finally told that Macy's would give me the money but I could not spend it yet. (??) Then Macy's told me that Macy's did not owe me anything and that they did not have a record of my original mattress being returned. Then Macy's made me go to the bank and get my statement and send Macy's all of the information that I had stating that I returned the mattress. Macy's required my bank account information when I went to my bank which did not make me feel comfortable but I did it. I am 86 years old and this event nearly caused a nervous breakdown. I finally received a check from Macy's on October 21, 2019. That is almost 6 months of misery that I went through with Macy's. I would not recommend doing business with Macy's to anyone due to my experience. I will not shop at Macy's...
