Adding to Christina's review for more context. When we got to the restaurant, we let the woman at the register know that this was an emergency situation to hopefully be helped out of basic human kindness, which we unfortunately did not receive. The lady never even explained to us that the restaurant bathroom is for "paying customers only."
The sign outside the restaurant saying that the bathroom isn't a public restroom seems very old, as it is very faded and hard to read for anyone unless you were actively trying to read it, which we didn't have time for since it was an emergency restroom situation.
Furthermore, when we did try to pay for something to use the bathroom, she wouldn't accept our cash, which made the situation worse and even more difficult to make sense of from our customer perspective. The lady at the register also swore back which can be understandable, but is very unprofessional even if it was a response to being swore at. This is coming from someone who has been in the food industry for 3 years and has faced several instances of people swearing at them, with no instance resulting in me swearing back at them.
I wouldn't give this place your time or money, as it seems they only treat you like a human if you're willing to pay them for it.
(As a personal aside, I can guarantee that having people pay for bathroom use doesn't remove any of the problems they listed. I'm sure people still steal and do drugs in that bathroom, even if the problem is not occurring as much now than...
Read moreSorry but this wAs the worst pho i had ever eaten. I thought it was full authentic Vietnamese food but it’s definitely not. The chicken pho - it wasnt the real chicken breast pulled from a chicken. It was the sliced frozen chicken that they use for take out. And i shouldve known because half of the menu is chinese take out. And maybe that wouldve explain the 4.4 stars reviews, probably for their chinese food. Cuz it aint the viet food lol. We even had the viet summer rolls, and the rolls completely fallen apart. There was no flavor and the pork used was the chinese pork thats used in fried rice, not the viet pork. The pho ga had absolutely no flavor, so i had to doused it in with hoisin sauce and siracha. So if youre not looking for pho in myrtle beach, this aint it. Also, the service was absolutely horrible. They had 1 waitress doing everything for the whole place - taking orders, serving food, getting drink orders. And the other lady was busy cleaning and sometimes wasnt even paying attention to the customers waiting. It was only when i had to like stare her down and wave just to get some service is when the lady who was cleaning decided to come by. Sorry, not sorry. You need more waiters to run the...
Read moreSo imagine this, a cold Myrtle Beach morning, 69 degrees. I mean brrr, just freezing! And you have nothing in your fridge back at the hotel left to eat, so a taste of comforting food which won't break your bank wins. The answer is simple, Pho. Pronounced, fuh, and having nothing to do with the ending of a zip code.
This place is relatively small, operated by chinese, (surprise!!) well, cozy yet bright, and welcoming at the same time nonetheless. All the classic choices are right there for the choosing, chopped and hashed with a few Chinese cuisine options as well. I opted for the pho tai bo vien, my son had the solo tai.
The broth was pleasant, so wonderfully comforting. There a very noticeable clarity. Flavor was well presented, authentic, defined. Of course, as it is customary, I added the typical accoutrements; basil, bean sprouts, sriracha, and extra lime to intensify the natural beauty of the soup. A perfect bite is the trick, when you're able to get all the ingredients into your spoon, mouth, then your belly. If I had one complaint, it would be that I don't live closer!! Their pho absolutely hit the spot, and for...
