This review concerns the younger of the two shopkeepers -
I heard that a 6239 Daytona was in the store - I've been looking for a nice example for some time now. Walked in ready to purchase the piece if I liked it. The (I dare not say Gentleman) behind the counter was among the rudest individuals I've ever encountered. He was having an inappropriate conversation on the phone and was extremely disrespectful to my wife and I until the cuff of my shirt revealed my Comex 16600 - Magic! All of the sudden a switch flipped and the shopkeeper had a big fake smile "So where are you from?" - Just deplorable... In regard to the watches themselves, I saw several vintage pieces, 1675 GMT's, 1665 Sea Dwellers, several classic Subs - some nice examples - most polished into oblivion, some with clearly replaced inserts, hands, etc. There was even a 6239 in the window with a snapped second hand. And the "Nautilus" in the display case disguised in bubble wrap was fishy to say the least. Everything was priced ~10%+ above market value of unpolished/all original pieces.
I won't be returning and the large network of vintage Rolex collectors I am involved with have been informed of the absolutely deplorable behavior of the clerk. Upon voicing my distaste for the shop, I found that several others had similar experiences, not only with behavior but with problematic watches as well. Steer clear. Give your hard-earned money to an establishment that will treat you with class and respect.
After 6 decades on this planet, this was one of the strangest social interactions I have ever had. My wife was very...
Read moreIncredibly disappointing experience with Ed and his way of doing business. I purchased a ceramic sub from him based on him stating he had all documentation for the piece. It was not going to be a piece I would wear a lot, but mostly an investment piece long term.
When the package arrived, it was just the watch and no documentation. I reached out and he said he would provide to me once he got back to Palm Beach. I've been incredibly patient and trusting assuming someone who sells millions of dollars of watches understands how important trust & relationship is. However, this is not the case with him at all. I received excuse after excuse (including blaming lost papers/box on UPS). I would reach out every couple of months and was either told he would get back to me or just get no response at all.
I will never purchase again from Ed. Not only that, but I will make sure to tell everyone I bring to Nantucket to avoid his shop all together. This is a very simple fix and if he can't be bothered to deliver on his promise, I wouldn't trust him--especially when purchasing a 5 or 6 figure watch. I had planned on building a nice collection through him, but there are plenty of other...
Read moreI cannot recommend Edward and The Trinity Collection highly enough. To celebrate a significant milestone, I was set on acquiring a new Rolex GMT-Master II "Batgirl" from a specific production year. I knew the challenges—long waitlists at authorized dealers and the uncertainty of unverified online marketplaces—and was determined to work with a reputable source.
Having known of The Trinity Collection from previous visits to Nantucket, I stopped in to speak with Ed. Over a few visits during my vacation, it became clear that Ed is not only an expert in his field but also a person of high integrity. He understood my goal and immediately went to work.
He successfully sourced and procured the exact timepiece I was looking for, delivering it to me before I returned home to D.C. For anyone hesitant about navigating the secondary luxury watch market, Ed is the answer. He is transparent, knowledgeable, and a straight-shooter who provides a level of service and peace of mind that is invaluable. I am thrilled with my purchase and will certainly be a...
