This may have just been a fluke order, and sometimes that happens, but the fish sandwich we ordered was bad or old or something and got one of our party very sick and even vomited. However, the rest of the order was ok. I felt the Black miso ramen tasted kind of bland and the chicken in it was flavorless. The bao buns were okay as well as the chicken sandwich and poke bowl. However, the beets in tahini was excellent. I had a hard time contacting them directly through phone to tell them of the issue with the fish, which might be important so more bad fish isnt sold, and it instead sent me automatically to voicemail even though they were still open. I also filed a complaint on there website.

I want to be fair, this might have just been a singular occurrence, but between the mostly middling food, the one instance of possible food poisoning, and the lack of a way to get in contact asap, I have to give a 2/5 review.

the beets were good though.

Edit: The Beet staff got back to me by email late that night and got in contact with me by phone the next day. They were very professional dealing with the situation and they assured me the fish was not old and they were going to look into what might have gone wrong with the fish sandwich. I appreciate them being so open about my...

I was looking for some food to take back to my hotel room after a long day outside and too much sun. The older woman working the front counter took my order and added a 20 percent tip. I should have reduced it to zero after the way they treated me. I took a seat at an empty table to wait for my food. Cashier lady told me sternly that I needed to vacate my seat because the table was reserved for a party of three “and they have a child.” I told her that I would be happy to vacate when they arrive. A few minutes later, some bearded hipster dude tells me again sternly to move because the table is reserved. So even though I am 65 and partially disabled, I vacated the seat and stood while my food was prepared. A few minutes later, an all-female clan arrived — grandma with the stroller, new mom with the baby, and BFF or sister. They decided that they preferred to sit outside even though it was a 15 or more minute wait. So the table wasn’t even used. Despite the 20 percent tip on a takeout order, nobody offered to let me re-take the seat to wait for my food.

The food? Let’s just say it was “filling.” A greasy chicken burger and vegetarian dumplings. Won’t be visiting again - ever. 3 stars max for the meal and the big old helping of attitude that comes...

Another review where I wish I could do 4.5 stars.

The Beet was good. We would return, but have a couple of wishes.

We ordered the Brussel sprouts, which were good overall, but would have been better with more flakiness and a bit less central mush.

I had the Korean BBQ quesadilla which was the best of what we ordered. It was fantastic and the scallion pancake as “tortilla” was superb. Loved the pork. The menu indicated the side of slaw would have pineapple in it, but I didn’t detect it. And I could have done with less BBQ sauce (too much on the top). But overall I loved the dish.

My wife got the chicken burger and it was tasty. While you might appreciate a good amount of meat, the burger was really too thick, especially in comparison to a brioche bun that got soggy way too quickly. Her sweet potato fries were excellent, perfectly crispy.

Service was okay. It was busy, but could have been better. The drink (water) service was great, always coming around to refill which is good for me as I drink a lot. But we waited a bit to get the check. Not a huge...

This restaurant seems to be trying a little too hard to be everything at once, there’s no clear identity or consistent energy, which made the atmosphere feel a bit scattered. That said, it didn’t take away from the quality of the food or the overall experience. The wine wise they had a decent selection with fair pricing. We started with the octopus, which was beautifully delicate, though it came on a bed of what seemed to be taro, unfortunately too mushy and not the best pairing. The truffle cod was the highlight: cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and nicely complemented by microgreens, which also worked well with the octopus. We ended the meal by sharing the ramen special of the night. It was generous in size and rich in flavor, definitely comforting. The space itself felt a bit too dark and moody for my taste, which clashed with the eclectic menu and overall tone. Still, despite the identity confusion, it was an enjoyable dinner.

We came here absolutely famished after not having eaten anything all day. We ordered several entrees - Dumplings, The Hulk, the Tastey Thai Sesame Noodles, and the Hokey Pokey. We didn't wait very long for our food but it was finished after the suggested time on the Toast app where we placed the order. The dumplings were great for vegetable dumplings. The Tuna bowl was my favorite but only came with a few thin slices of tuna, which for the price ($28) was not a great value. The Hulk was fresh but the dressing was somewhat overpowering and the green rice in the bottom was very bland - tastes like rice with food coloring. The Sesame Noodles were a good portion and had a sweet sesame sauce that was nice. All in all for the $100 we spent I didn't think it was worth the value for a place that's on par, in my opinion, with a SweetGreen.
