Unfortunately I have to reduce my 5 star review to a 2 after the conversation I had today with our interior designer. We have been purchasing furniture from Ethan Allen for 38 years, steadily in the last 3. In September we purchased a bedroom set along with bedding. Bedding came within a week but just received the headboard November 30. Still waiting for the rest of the furniture. Opened the bedding once we mounted the headboard on the wall. The decorative pillow clashed. I was told it couldnât be returned because it was past the 30 day return period even though i didnât open it and wasnât able to put it together with the headboard until the headboard arrived 2 months later. They did offer to exchange for some pillow shams on the sales floor which we did not care for. Keep in mind the pillow represents .009 of our total bedroom purchase price.
Today after several emails back and forth, our interior designer called and told me that if they go outside the corporate rules to take back the pillow, the manager would get yelled at then the managersâs boss would get yelled at and so on up the chain. However since we could not work out a good exchange option, she said to bring the pillow back and they will give me a refund. I was then informed that Ethan Allen corporate does not care about how much business weâve given them that no corporate company in todayâs world cares anymore. Itâs not like the old mom and pop shops. So I take from our conversation that Ethan Allen does not care about their customers or in retaining loyal customers. I donât know that I can continue to purchase from a company that does not value my patronage.
Update: furniture finally arrived after 4 months and is damaged. Now waiting...

   Read moreI have been buying almost exclusively from Ethan Allen for over 30 years. I started my most recent whole home project 6/2022. Items were very delayed. I even opted to reselected my sofa after waiting several month and having the ship date indefinitely postponed due to materials shortages. My reselections cost me time and money, things no longer flowed together. The craftsmanship and quality are not what they once were. Finishes do not match sample boards and are not evenly applied. They did remake several pieces for these reasons. But, my sofa cushions have different foam. Some are very mushy, cheap feeling. I feel this happened because of the pandemic era foam shortage. At this point I can not get any response to my E mails or messages from customer service. I now feel that their customer service is not what it once was.
