The dog depot — Restaurant in Naperville

The Dog Depot marks a return of a long lost Home Depot tradition. I remember as a kid being taken to HD with my Mother to get some materials for housework that had to be done, usually during the summer when I was home and there were projects to do. Usually Grandma would come along too. Every time, without fail, we would get a Hot Dog for a quick snack or a lunch to carry us through the rest of the day. The memory of that time is forever in my head.

Fast forward some 15 years, and the COVID Pandemic resulted in many being shutdown. I was disheartened, to say the least. Those stands were my go-to places for Hot Dogs.

Another 5 years later, and I find myself again with my Mother at Home Depot getting some items for home improvement and to my surprise I see The Dog Depot. She knew better than to stop me as I eagerly bought us each a Hot Dog, fully loaded. Going outside we used my cars trunk as a table and enjoyed the most delicious Vienna Hot Dogs in all of Chicago-land. Rarely can I say something brings back childhood memories and feelings like these babies do.

I went back again and got the Chili Hot Dog with Cheese later on, and it was the best Chili Cheese Dog I have had in a good long while. There was also a sign about Italian Beef being offered but I have not had a chance to try it out. I will for sure be going back sometime after work to pick up a nice quick meal. I got 3 dogs one of which was a combo all for less than $20 bucks.

If you ever find yourself wanting a Hot Dog, The Dog Depot is the place to go for some nice tasty ones. Let us keep the tradition of Home Depot Hot Dogs alive and let it never...
