Love Costco ever since they first opened their stores in Chicago IL. For a big family as big as 4+ people, the store has good durable household & food products worth the value compared to other retailers. I mainly like about the store the fact that they almost always sell the same items you have accustomed to buying at this place. Lately though, allot of my favorite products either discounted or temporary unavailable, for whatever reason few of which are: bacon wrapped chicken cutlets which went MIA since last year. Also haven’t seen the $100 smoked prosciutto meat leg. It used to come around winter season & made an excellent gift, but I haven’t seen it this winter. Occasionally I also see some out of stock favorites but they return after 2 weeks give or take. Costco has mainly Kirkland brand as their supplier as well as other big verity of organic non GMO products. Though there still a few bioengineered stuff seen in the back of the contents label. I like the fact that they promote their products to taste them out prior buying. And truth be told 95% of the stuff I tried as sampler I ended up buying and it was good. So I’m glad they have the samplers because had I not tried it myself or someone recommended, I would have never purchased it out of blue. Parking at this location is always packed, no matter the day or the hour. But I calculated best time to shop at Costco is after 3, during weekday, between Mon-Thur. Less people at the store & close open parking spots. But in order to shop at their store you need a membership card. Otherwise they won’t allow you to make a purchase. Unless maybe if you have a guest pass. Not sure about that. But what I’m sure of 150% is that membership has to be 1 per (2 people) household. So for example there are 2 membership cards for household, say one in your name another for a spouse. Yet if your mom/dad/sibling wishes to visit the store without any of you, your household family members will not be able to shop/buy if their name isn’t on that card. They recently changed their policy about that. :( We have a large family, brothers & sisters all under one big roof. Been buying at Costco for years, our household main person is my older brother. So it was his & his wife names on the cards. We never had issues cuz all of us are with the same last name/address. Once or twice they asked for ID to check home address but not since October 2023. We used to be able to shop there without an issue until they strictly enforced the other people of the household to pay for the annual membership. I think it’s super unfair to enforce that rule and they will only loos money on that whole membership issue which is $60/year (the lowest). Imagine how much $ people spend daily… I can reassure you some members of my family refused to shop this place because they enforced their membership. Anyway it’s their loss. But what I have been told of recently, they are planning to get rid of physical cards & scan membership from smartphones.

Quality Assurance is missing. I go here weekly for bread, mangos, and a few other things here and there. I have to thoroughly check each product I buy to make sure that the product isn’t open, damaged, leaking, moldy, or gross in general. I’ve purchased open bags of chips, open naan, sodas that burst, strawberries that are moldy, milk that leaks, steaks with major discoloration, moldy cheese, moldy Belle peppers, the list is pretty big. I’d say every other week by the time I get home I notice that a product I purchased is damaged in some way or another. I try to check on each product as best as possible but sometimes I just don’t notice it until I get home and unload everything, or until I start using the product. The straw that broke the camels back is that O bought naan on Wednesday, I went to have some today (Sunday) and saw that the packaging had holes in it like bite holes. Not good! The other one in Naperville is vastly superior with quality, but it’s also much further from where I live. 2 stars because even though I’m having issues trusting the products, the staff at this warehouse is very nice and very kind. They’re great at customer service which is rare these days, but the products need to be scrutinized big time.

Costco is a retailer that sells in bulk, these places are good for if you have a business or large family, some of the products you will find here in bulk are canned goods, rice, dairy, yogurts, frozen food, meat, various cheeses and sorts of deli meat. They also sell electronics, fine jewelry, clothing including name brands such as Calvin Klein and non name brands you will find clothing for adults (women, children and men). They sell laundry detergent, furniture, seasonal items and more. I recommend to check this place out the on thing is you will need a membership to come in the building unless someone has given you a gift card. The membership costs any where from $60.00 a yr to $120.00 per yr.

I have been a member for many years now! I have spent thousands of dollars throughout the years. I am extremely disappointed on how I was treated at COSTCO today! To be honest I am still in disbelief! At check out an item rang up more than expected! I asked to speak to the manager since I believed that there was a lot of confusion on where the price sign is located, ROBERT the "manager" met me where the item was! As I walked closer, I could see he was already frustrated and not ready to do his job, which is to help me, the customer! As I try to politely explain to him my confusion with the sign, (there where two signs for two different items, they were almost identical, it was hard to tell which one was which) he wanted to dismiss me as soon as possible, but I still wanted to know the difference between both items since I was still interested in making the purchase, I asked him if he could explain to me the difference between both items, he without any knowledge of either items blurred out, well obviously this one is better, I explained to him that it was not obvious to me and that's why I was asking! Since I was feeling very disrespected by Robert the "manager" I just said thank you and proceeded to customer service, where maybe someone would be willing to help me. There I asked to speak to the store Manager, the same "manager" comes back, by this time he is furious (everyone can see it) and he begins to ask what the problem is! I again ask to speak to the store manager (3 times). Finally the store manager comes and we walk to the back where the items are located, I explained to him what the confusion was, he also tries to explain to me how they set up their items, by this time I could care less about the lights and I just wanted to let the store manager how disrespected I felt by Robert, the other "manager." He decide to give me a gift card (for customer satisfaction he called it) he told Robert the other manager to hand it to me, the other "manager" refused to hand me the card and even to apologize for his behavior towards me! I pointed out his behavior to the store manager, he clearly saw how the "manager" was treating me (extremely rude)! The store manager told me he was going to have a talk with him, but just incase he didn't, I wanted my experience to be known! My membership expires soon, I'm debating if I should renew or not! I'd rather do my shopping where customers are valued and are not disrespected or belittled! Hopefully if Robert is reading this he can think twice on how he treats customers next time! Hopefully this can remind Robert of rule number one in customer service, which is that the CUSTOMER IS...

I personally love shopping at Costco a lot and it’s been my number one shopping destination !! I have observed recently that this particular Costco location on Route 59 gives a hard time to customers for returns, particularly food items. Costco policy ensures that customers can return food items even if partially consumed to get a full refund within a reasonable period of time . I recently purchased bagels for my kids on June 20th (Sell by date ) and one my kids observed that the bagels have grown mold today (June 24), just within 4 days of purchasing them !! The customer service agent “Alberta” started questioning why I am retuning the food items partially consumed ( my kids had consumed one of the bagel packets and the remaining one packet have grown molds ) and I should have consumed the food within the “Sell By” date which is the date I purchased the item !! Essentially, she expects me to consume all the food items on the same day I had purchased, which not only sounds ridiculous but also illogical !! I asked for partial credit even though Costco policy is to refund for the entire value of the food items even though partially consumed. She seemed reluctant to offer me a refund and when I asked to talk to her manager, she refunded me the amount unwillingly. To me it was not about the few bucks refunded for this particular item, but more about my confidence in Costco’s return policy being shattered !! I am not sure if this is a training issue of this particular Costco location or is it just a few employees who don’t understand what customer service entails !! Personally , I purchase thousands of dollars of items per year at Costco and am an executive member since the last 20+ years. I love the products and Costco’s return policy which is iconic. I complained about this particular incident to a Costco supervisor with the hope that customer experience wrt returns can be made better and seamless, aligned with the Costco corporate policy. I fervently hope that someone from Costco corporate monitors these review comments and will take necessary action to improve the customer experience wrt returns at this particular Costco store on Route 59 in...
