Dress Up Nashville — Local services in Nashville-Davidson

With such poor and deceptive customer service, Dress Up deserves nothing more than a dressing down. I would recommend people spend their money elsewhere.

I originally purchased a pair of black sandals for $29.99 from Dress Up's 21st location in Nashville, TN. I was told at the register I had to give my name in order for the shoes to be returnable. I gave my name because I wasn't sure they would suit my needs. It seemed excessive and unnecessarily invasive, but not too unreasonable.

However, when I tried to return the shoes (unworn, tags attached, and with receipt), I was told I could only exchange the shoes or get store credit. This was frustrating, but I chose the giftcard. Then, as if this wasn't hassle enough, I was refunded a sale price - $19.99 - not what I had originally paid for the shoes. The clerk at the counter did not tell me this though, and I only noticed this looking at the return receipt.

If you want good service and cute clothes, spend your money at any one of the other shops lining 21st in this area. Dress Up is not worth the hassle.

Update on 4 Aug 2018: I was told to come in and a manager would be in to help resolve this issues. I arrived and there was no manager available. The clerk said there was nothing she could do and that even though I purchased a full price item, she could only give me the return price. My friend and I walked in. She had been so excited to go to this store and had made me excited with how cute she said it was on Instagram. Walked in and the two employees were in the back having a full on gossip conversation to each other and did not even say hi to us. We looked around for like 5 minutes and they still said nothing to us so we were walking to the front to look at some shoes we saw and one of the girls said, “Bye, thanks for coming!” And we were not even leaving. This store does NOT give back REFUNDS!! Be careful what you buy because they only give you in store credit. I asked if I could bring them back and they said “yeah totally” didn’t say anything about the refund policy.
