Honestly they have had two shots now. First time was okkk. The host of the open mic, John rocked and the half of the owner on the front part was nice. Food was good, yet over priced for some crock pot routine. I do love a good dive bar with home folded goodness but it was a turn off when older brother who lead The night crew was not as nice as the younger brother and I don’t know. I just had never felt the desire to return in many months until just now . Honestly, I was headed home from an engagement in Nashville in order to get to Franklin and I saw it and I thought it would be a great stopping place to get a quick bite. I was instantly engaged in the vibe and ready to have a good time when all of a sudden I overheard the owner a.k.a. bartender number one from the last time make a snide nark comment about me and the song that was playing in my enthusiasm to drive everyone to have a good time and dance and just dance and sing and in fact, the funny thing was, they played the pink pony club and I was ending it singing. It’s the village Tavern. I’m gonna keep on dancing at the village Tavern And I can’t even believe the owner of the village Tavern. I grabbed my keys in my wallet and all the money that I’ve invested in their business and I will never go...
Read moreWelp this is a pretty solid dive bar, got all the classic staples like a frantic but easygoing bartender, a jukebox that I think was working, and 100s of old Polaroids from the 80s-90s, some signed dollar bills, etc. We loved everything about this bar and although we did not have the famous gumbo there were several people eating it. Beer and seltzer place only. Their board games (we played Trouble and Hangman) had all the pieces which was a big plus. They have free darts and 4 dart boards, keep in mind Tuesday around 7ish it is packed with dart league people. Great spot, local’s place, we will be back. Oh also you get a free dog bowl full of beer on...
Read moreA time capsule of a bar. They've got plenty of brews, darts and a well stocked jukebox. Yes you read that right. A jukebox with modern tastes. I love going here because the beer is cheap, the staff looks out for you and it's a great place to go out and have a good time. The patrons are friendly and I've never had a bad time here. Warning, for anyone who is not a fan of smelling like cigarettes the next day, SMOKING IS ALLOWED INDOORS. If you can get past that, it's a hell of a bar. 8/10. Also, important fact. They only serve beer, as memory recalls. They do not serve liquor. And as memory serves, don't serve wine either. Thought you...
