We were originally going to go to pancake pantry, but the line was very long, so we wanted to try something new. The wait around 12 was 30-45 minutes. At 12:35ish we got the text our table was ready. We got sat in the patio area which was nice because the heaters actually work well. Ashely got to us when she got a chance and at least asked if we wanted some waters and she got them for us.
After a while she came back and we placed the order for everything. We got a mix of the trifecta, some shareables, an omelette, and basic drinks.
The service, although busy, was very very slow. We didn’t end up leaving until 2pm when getting in around 12:30 - for brunch.
The food was pretty decent, the shareables were all good, the hot chocolate was good. We had an issue with a bad tasting batch of eggs so we asked to get a new scrambled egg, some more potatoes cause they’re pretty good and some miscellaneous stuff.
It took about 15 minutes until she came back and asked if someone else brought the eggs and potatoes. We said no we’ll just take the check. We got the check, and realized we were getting charged for the eggs and potatoes we didn’t want or never got because it took too long. Furthermore, we asked to have the bad egg taken off the check.
She brought back the next check updated and we asked for change as we paid cash. She then went with our change and check to multiple other tables, then was on her phone at the bar for 5 minutes or so while we waited at the table for our change.
At this point I had to get up and ask for a manager or ask to get our change because we felt like why are we just being completely ignored, not communicated with, etc. which was the theme of the whole experience of being forgotten about or not checked on, etc.
She finally came back with saying there was a problem with the system, to process our cash transaction.. I asked why she was on her phone and can’t just get us the change we needed (12$) which is not much for petty cash that servers and waitresses usually have on hand. She slapped 11$ on the table down, said “yall too much” then walked away, shorting out change a dollar.
Overall I’d recommend this experience to nobody. Although the food was not bad, the experience, long waits, and horrible service was just something nobody should have to put up with. Even if someone doesn’t agree with my patience as a customer, you don’t slap our change on the table and say we’re too much - and short us a dollar.
As we were walking out, after everything occurred, the what-seems-to-be manager tried to approach us but we truly just wanted out of the hour and a half long wait to go home.
We never got a receipt but we at least...
Read moreBased on the reviews, I was really excited to try this place and wanted to love it! Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I did not have a great experience. We went at noon on a Saturday and the wait was 45 mins… pretty typical for Nashville brunch, just something to be aware of. Deciding to skip the wait, we sat at the bar instead. Man oh man did the woman working at the bar wake up on the wrong side of the bed. She seemed very crabby and had an attitude of “I do not want to be here.” Took at least 20 mins to take our order (I get it, you’re busy) but then took 55 mins to receive our two meals!! Kinda outrageous for hash browns, tater tots, pancakes, and eggs. The food was decent, but not anything special or amazing for the wait. I ordered a coffee that I never received. While eating, I asked the woman working at the bar for it twice and then asked the server for it again. When we went to pay the bill I asked for the coffee to be taken off the bill because I never received it. The woman working at the bar argued with me that the server was supposed to make it not her, and that she could make it up for me really fast. I told her no thanks, please just take it off the bill, and she argued again that I could have it in a to-go cup. Annoyed that I had to ask for the coffee 3 times that I never received, and wanted to drink with my meal and not to go, I asked again for it to be taken off the bill. Woman working at the bar was annoyed that she had to get a manager to fix our bill. Seems like many people had great service when waiting for a table vs the bar so you might have better luck waiting the long line for a table and not sitting at the bar.
Also, this does not impact my review of the restaurant at all, but something to be aware of. A homeless man grabbed my boyfriends shoulder when walking in and asked us to buy him breakfast at a different restaurant. The man wouldn’t let go of my boyfriends arm and told us “we weren’t raised right.” When leaving the restaurant, the man shouted slurs at other pedestrians and told them to “go back to their own country.” Again, not at all the restaurants fault, just warning you to...
Read moreIt's a nice looking place in a good location. When I went it in it was a mess - literally: tables hadn't been bussed, and I sat at the bar next to dirty plates and glasses the whole time I was there. The people who walked in with me stood at the abandoned call station for about six minutes and then were told to wait apparently even though the place was not even half-full.
The bartender was working her butt off, and clearly the place was understaffed. I ordered a drink and food without incident but then when it was time to pay the poor woman was so overwhelmed and about four different waiters were waiting for her to do things, AND she was waiting tables near the bar. I just sat there waiting as she ran past fulfilling orders from the other staff who seemed pretty annoyed at her, and I almost felt like saying something. These are just bad working conditions and a bad vibe. and I felt bad for her. No one who seemed to be the manager was around, so I waited and felt bad when I said I had to go so could I please pay somewhere else, and she kept apologizing but it wasn't her fault. Also, the bathroom trash was overflowing and there were all these tubs full of dishes and plastic containers all over the place.
This was pretty much the scene. The food was okay and the bloody mary was bland. But I feel really bad for this one employee in particular, who should have had support: she appeared to be making every single drink, so it looked like everyone in the place was depending on her, and that's not fair to her. I was expecting one of those pricy brunch places that I only go to occasoinally, and that's what I got, but next time I'll go to a...
