I have been in the city for 10 years. I wanna say I come to this shop once or twice a year one of the reasons pretty much is just my schedule. When I do have time or happen to be out and about and ready to sit still then I do come in because I do stay swamped but today I went in and I knew I had to wait and I was fine with that. Looks like new people from the last time fine with that gentleman that was doing my nails seemed very nice, but he kept asking me. Do I like do I like I said yes, but I guess he could read the expression on my face. I’ve been getting my nails done for 30+ years so men have always had a hard time doing my nails so I don’t give them a hard time I just let them do if I can’t handle it in two weeks I come back or go to someone else that’s just who I am well I did tell him that he had them too short so he said let me take them off. I don’t like it when they take my nails off. They’re very they handle my hands very harsh when they take my nails off so I said No don’t take them off. Just leave it like it is once again. I was very calm. I wasn’t being mean because it really wasn’t bothering me. I know how I am in two weeks three weeks. I’ll be back but right now it wasn’t that difficult so then he was looking at the shape. I said well because they’re so short you can’t do the shape I want now which is fine. I don’t have a problem. Just go ahead and curve it a little bit so it doesn’t look like a shuffle once again I have been getting my nails done for 30+ years so instead of him saying OK he tells me he’s not comfortable doing my nails and I was like What are you talking about? Just do them he gets up and asks the young lady behind him. I don’t know what she says because I don’t speak the language, but I know I was insulted. I could tell everyone was looking at me and I hadn’t done anything hadn’t raised my voice hadn’t said I didn’t like it. I was very calm. I was even smiling because I was having a good day so I wasn’t facing me he insisted. So now I am irritated so I said never mind. Don’t worry about it and I got up. They charged me five dollars for the tips. I’ve read a couple of your reviews and yes, sometimes they can be. I feel like the race does play a big part in it but that’s all over Nashville, so I’m not gonna say that I would like to say to the gentleman I went to the company that I’ve only been to three times this year. He jumped right on it no complaints no concerns didn’t change the size and I’m happy. I am so content because I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. I just wanted to get my nails done. He wanted to take them off and start over. I said no he said no problem and they don’t even look like a shovel now yes, I paid a little bit more but you know what it was worth it because he was secure, and what he could do he respected my wishes and finished a job. Now I’m not gonna give a one because like I said when I’m in the area I do go there. Will I come back anytime soon this year not I will probably go ahead and see the guy that I went to today because even though I’ve had three different people do my nails, they’ve always been welcoming so not when I go back to Oper Mills, I will not this year. hopefully I'll calm down by next year we’ll see, but I’m gonna give a three because normally they’re OK. Today was so...
Read moreEdit: I received a message that the salon is under new management, I haven’t personally gone back to visit but the new owner reached out and said they are doing everything they can to provide a better experience.
I wasn’t sure if I should leave a review, but the more I’ve been reading other bad reviews the more I feel like I should.
I only went here because it was the only salon open on Sunday. The price for a basic pedicure was $50 which seemed high to me and it was nothing fancy. I ended up opting for gel polish thinking it was going to last longer since I was paying so much for the pedicure I wanted it to stay on for a while. The pedicure was $80 for French gel and came off in a week and a half.
For me and a male (meaning he didn’t even get polish just a basic pedicure) it was over $130 and that didn’t include the tips. The two individuals in the salon that were helping me and my boyfriend were kind but I think the products they were given to work with were horrible. I have never had a gel pedicure come off so fast. It started peeling around the edges and then when I would take my shoes off it all flaked off in full pieces. The tips all chipped off a few days later and the clear parts in the photo is mostly gone, it’s just hard to tell. I got them done for a vacation and then by the time I went on my vacation a week later they were peeled and once I came back almost completely gone. The gel was so poor in quality I was able to use a nail file and filed the pedicure off at about the 2 week mark, the rest peeled right off after a shower.
I think the owner (unsure if that’s who it was, older gentleman) got in a SCREAMING match with one of his employees. I think the girl turned away one of his customers on accident because the store was going to be closing soon and he was freaking out. He was yelling the F word at her and pacing around screaming saying that she was wrong and the girl has a reservation but the female working at the salon didn’t see a reservation online so she didn’t know. This happened at the middle of our pedicures and made it super awkward, the two people doing our pedicures made faces at us and it almost felt normal- they weren’t sure what to say. The guy seemed like a total hot head and screaming and cursing at your employees for making a mistake isn’t a business I want to support again. For $130 I wanted a better experience and a lasting pedicure, I also felt really badly for the girl who got screamed at with customers around, that’s embarrassing and...
Read moreI’m in PAIN!!! Although the staff was kind, this place is not clean. Because it’s in a mall with a ton of foot traffic, it’s imperative for service businesses like this to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of every client. I did see a staff member spay and wipe the seat next to my pedicure after that service was completed, but my tech did several unsafe practices. She lined the bowl with a plastic liner which gave me hope, but it went downhill from there. They were very busy, so they were rushing. She was super aggressive with my cuticles, and used a utensil that wasn’t sterile (I didn’t see her open the pack of tools in front of me). When she drained the bowl, she rinsed the sink plug with my feet still submerged in water in the same water. So basically, all that bacteria was swimming around my freshly plucked cuticles. Within 12 hours I developed severe paronychia! At 72 hours my fingers were in full blown staff infection with abscess under the nail. It’s my fault for trusting a place that doesn’t have time to properly clean. My lesson, don’t cut corners. Only go to places where the techs have time to do the job right. I’m in so much pain and wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s hard to walk. I have throbbing, burning and...
