I was such a fan of this place, have supported them since their first shop on Porter Road. Over the years, I have spent hundreds of dollars here and brought in people that have also spent hundreds of dollars themselves in one trip. Obviously that's not a raging amount, but it probably equals up to $2000 over the years.
I love that it's a small business, and that it is female owned. However, this past Christmas, I asked my boyfriend to get me the camo flannel. He ended up getting me the wrong one, actually one that I already own.
Within two weeks of Christmas, I went into the shop to explain the situation and hopefully exchange my flannel for something else. Additionally, I let the owner know that I had brought in three new customers at Christmas .
The owner told me there was no way I could exchange and that it was final sale.
I was really disappointed, being a loyal customer over the years, that she would not let me exchange the shirt that was gifted to me on accident. I probably would have ended up spending even more on what I would have exchanged it for. Instead, I'm left with the $44 shirt I already own.
Needless to say, she lost two customers that day, me and my boyfriend :/
Moral of the story: great finds, small business, but dang- If they can't support their local loyal customers in a small way, then why would I keep...
Read moreI’d found N.B. Goods in 2022 when searching for a cute Nashville banner for our new house. We popped in not thinking much of it and the owner Camille struck up a conversation with us (my husband is from NJ and geeked out over the NJ merch). Since then, it’s become my go to spot anytime I need a gift that feels personal, thoughtful and unique. Most recently, she did a pop up for embossed wallets and I quite literally dropped everything to go over and get one as a gift for a family member that is hard to shop for!
But, N.B. Goods is sooooo much more than a store. Camille is the backbone of our small business community in Nashville. She even encouraged my husband to do a bagel pop up that has now turned into a huge part of our lives and still comes out to support us when we are slinging bagel (where my husband proudly always wears his N.B. Goods x NJ devils hat). She shines a light so bright I’ve single handedly witnessed her passion and inspiration move others. Extra grateful to have walked into her shop 3 years ago and am always excited to see all the new ways she cultivates community through...
Read moreThis is one of the best shops in town if you’re looking for unique and wearable gear for yourself or gifts for someone else. Top destination for stickers (Nashville focused or cultural reference), chunky beanies (bought one for myself and hubs for Xmas), comfy and well-made clothing (vintage and new), huge totes, best little espresso mugs ever (Nashville one is so cute), crew socks, and custom wallets with monogramming. I’ve bought all of these things from here and get compliments all of the time. Got a custom monogrammed leather wallet for my husband for Xmas and it’s so nice - the owner did it herself. On top of all of the great stuff, we get to support a local business, run by folks who support the local community and others (LA and Altadena gear supporting those who suffered due to the wildfires, etc). When getting gifts it’s the first place I think of because I want to support a small, local biz owner who contributes to making Nashville as...
