Pastor Faison is a dynamic preacher. I think he is truly called by the Holy Spirit to preach. I just recently joined this church. One of the reasons is he seems to genuinely care about his members. I went to the new members class and he answered any questions or concerns we had. I felt he was forthcoming and sincere. He seems to be very hands on with his congregation, I like this about him. I also noticed that he has a heart for young adults, and children. His wife and whole family seems to be very down to earth and very relatable. I also see his daughter every week going around hugging a lot of the members. This tells me that she has a heart for people at her young age. My prayer for him and his family is that they stay humble, and caring. I am sure that because he is such a dynamic preacher, he is probably getting pulled in all directions, and some jealousy may be going on with other pastors in Nashville. I admire him, but I don't put him on a pedestal, I think that we often do that to pastors and are always disappointed sooner or later. We have to remember that when we see someone who has so much talent and can preach the truth as he does, it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit. So we only put Christ on the pedestal and be amazed at how he uses Pastor Faison, as long as he is a willing vessel. So I pray that he will continue to be the willing vessel for...
Read moreI visited Watson Grove on Sunday (9/28) at the Nashville campus and I’m very glad I did. I arrived to service about 30 minutes late but I was still greeted with like an old friend or family member. The people are super friendly here. Pastor Faison is a phenomenal preacher and teacher! His voice reminds me of former BET News journalist Tavis Smiley but his preaching styles reminds me a lot of my pastor, Dr. Marcus D. Cosby. I was in Nashville to visit my daughter who is a student at Tennessee State University. We normally visit Mt. Zion MBC but I asked my daughter to plan the weekend for me and her Granny and she told me she wanted to go to Watson Grove. I was a little disappointed at first because I love Bishop Walker and the Mt. Zion family but I really enjoyed myself at the Grove!!! The men’s choir sang Victory is Mine by Commissioned. They had my attention right there. I will continue to follow The Grove online and can’t wait to worship them the next time I’m...
Read moreI’ve been a member of this church for almost a year now, the pastor is great, he does a good job explaining the word. This past Sunday it was a bit hard for me to focus due to a greeter asking for my water bottle and saying “You can not drink in the sanctuary.” I thought she was being funny so I laughed and walked passed her, she then came from behind me & repeated it and asked for my water bottle & told me I can get it after service. I was confused by this but continued to go inside for service. I’m not sure who the “No drinking in the sanctuary” applies to because the pastor had a water bottle on hand & a few others who sit behind him as well. This was just so weird to me, to basically get chased down for a...
