Hobby Lobby — Local services in Neptune Township

Have I been counting down the days for this Hobby Lobby to open? 100%. Checking on google at least once a week for the past 2 months? Of course. I mean, come on, a Hobby Lobby that’s closer than Howell? Near my city?! How exciting. Store was clean, they’ve got all the usual “deals” where everything is 40% off. (it’s always 40% off don’t let them trick you. even though i allow myself to get tricked every time)

Service wasn’t bad, though I did have the same employee pass me about 9 times while I was in the store which was only about 40 minutes. Maybe during employee training, the very conservative owners of Hobby Lobby’s everywhere tell their employees to keep a close eye on the tattooed people. Or maybe it was just random. Either way, definitely a little weird feeling like I was being followed around the store.

Still, it won’t stop me from going back and spending more of my hard earned money on a new crafting project or some furniture. 😭

I just want to take a moment to recognize Kim at Hobby Lobby. Every time I visit with my kids, she goes above and beyond to make our shopping experience enjoyable. She is always incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely helpful—whether it’s answering questions, offering suggestions, or just taking the time to engage with my children and make them feel welcome.

Shopping with kids can sometimes be hectic, but Kim’s warmth and friendly attitude make it so much easier. She truly embodies excellent customer service, and it’s clear she cares about the people who come through the doors. Employees like her make a big difference, and we’re so grateful for all that she does!

Specifically called and asked whether they had needle art (burnt persimmon) and they said yes and that they would put 6 aside. When I went out of my way to go to this store, they only had 2). I need it tonight, so now I have to find somewhere else to get it. Huge disappointment. The cashier was not nice and was short (rude) and very unhelpful. The person in back/department was nice and tried to see if they had any more, but there was no more available. Lied to on the...
