Ok so, I’m a fan of 5 guys, this is the only chain store that I go to for a burger and fries, however, this particular store ruined it for me on a cold January night. After leaving a show, my son and I decided to grab some grub to go, so we stopped here. I must admit that if maybe I would have shown up earlier that day my experience could have been better, still though I showed up 30 minutes before the store was scheduled to close. No issues with the burger, the fries though.... different story. I think that the checkout lady must have scraped the bottom of the fryer and picked up the scrap fries that fell through the drainer, then she must have refried them again to show effort or play the part, then throw extra extra salt, to add extra flavor! and then she put it into my TO GO bag. Mind you I didn’t find out till I was miles away already. NOW, the right thing she should have done was to open a new bag of uncooked fries and fry them OR just tell the customer that due to the time of the night, no more fries were available... but nope... none of the right options happened. I do not recommend this place due to...
Read moreI eat a LOT of burgers (can't you tell?) and by far, of all I've had nationwide, Five Guys consistently tops everything except perhaps full-on specialty burger joints that charge full restaurant prices. This store in Neptune was a little smaller than most but the staff was friendly and the service was fast as usual. Whatever Five Guys does to train their people, it WORKS because I almost always have a great experience (one time, in Denver...that's another story). Anyway, at approximately 51 carbs, this bad boy is a low-carb dieter's dream (yeah, eat the bun, I had one of these without one - in an aluminum tray - it was awful. I swore I'd never do that again.) Just don't eat many more carbs during the day; PROBLEM SOLVED. With 40+ grams of protein, it is, for me at least, a really effective component of my low-carb lifestyle. Hate, hate, HATE to skip the fries, I cheat sometimes, they are AMAZING but ... yeah. Priorities,...
Read moreThe music was so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think. I did ask, when I was placing my order, if they could turn it down, b/c I could hardly hear the young lady taking our order. They turned it down a little. But it was still way toooooooo loud. Plus, if you were over 18, you would've hated the music. I wasn't the only one complaining. We say 2 families grab their food and leave. We ate as quickly as we could and left. In addition, I ordered a little cheeseburger with fried onions. I love it and always order the same. There were 5 tiny pieces of friend onions on my cheeseburger. You simply cannot leave young teenagers to run a place and expect it to work right. Whoever was managing, had no idea what it's like to care about the customers more than having fun. It'll be a long time b/4 we return. It's been going down hill for a while and today was just about...
