Carvel — Restaurant in Neptune Township

So, today is my 45th birthday, and my mother has always gotten me a Carvel ice cream cake. Today, I get my cake, and I see this abomination. I don't know who decorated it, but this is just wrong. It's supposed to say Happy Birthday, Jae, with the Omega symbol around it, to represent my fraternity. The Omega symbol looks like a depressed one color rainbow, happy doesn't even look like it has all the letters, you can't even see what it's suppose to say with the yellow they used, and there is barely even any cookie crumbles in the cake, my favorite part. I'm not even going to talk about the glitter bomb that went off on my cake. The Carvel cake is always the highlight of my bday. Separating the vanilla from chocolate and cookies crumbs from the cake. Eating the icing and cookie crumbs last. This poor excuse of a cake just brought me down. I remember a time when those who decorated the cake took pride in it. We ordered a medium sheet cake from the Neptune location for pickup the next day for my child's birthday as that's what he wanted. When I walked in at pickup time, the order was not ready and still had to be done. It wasn't anything crazy, just some writing in a specific color. No big deal at the time as it only took a few minutes to do and I didn't mind waiting as the older gentleman pulled a medium sheetcake out of the freezer and took care of it. Now, the concerning part, is that the cake just didn't taste fresh. Not saying it's bad in a way that could make anyone sick, just tasted like it had been sitting for a long time. On Sunday we stopped in to pick-up something to take over to my brother and sister in-laws house for dessert. What's better than Carvel. There was so much to choose from it all looked so good!!! I can remember as a kid Carvel commercials how can you forget Cookie Puss. After a long time on making a decision we chose the ice cream sandwiches Yummy. Upon arriving we told my brother in-law we got ice cream sandwiches his serious reply was he never meant a ice cream sandwich he didn't like.
