BEWARE. Do not buy carts from here! They will attempt to SCAM you! When I walk up to the register I tell Detective Benjamin that I would like a disposable verano trainwreck traveller cart but I suggest he should walk outside with me and watch me open it and hit it which is the insane process they have you go through anyway to prove that it really doesnt work they have had me do this every time as other people have said on here even though we have to drive what is this weird process? Anyway I tell him this has happened to me the past straight 5 times and I want to open it in front of him because its always an interrogation everytime and id rather you see me open it with your own eyes. He says yeah dude no problem seemingly being understanding at the time. We both go outside I open it and hit in front of him he says something like "dude are you even hitting it?" I said uh yeah its not lighting up look, do you want to try hitting it? "He said "uh no we arent supposed to hit it ourselves on the job" which I find ironic considering they want you to hit and prove it then go drive home but anywayy then I tells him why dont we try to plug it into a charger and see if it lights up to charge maybe its just dead me and another cashier have done it before. I suggested this because I was trying to be considerate, I go there all the time and I didnt want them to have to give me another cart if the problem with this one was that the battery is dead but if it doesnt light up when it we plug the charger in then its completely broken, if it was just dead I would still have taken it and charge it at home so that they dont have to give me a new one. He says he'll find a charger and to go back inside and I go back around again through the front door and Officer Ben is talking to his coworker and from looking at it in hindsight, probably telling his coworker he doesnt believe me for some reason. Im at the register watching this then we go over to register we were at previously and he says "give me one second man" then disappears for 5 minutes comes back and stares at his computer screen making confused faces for another what feels like 5 minutes and finally says something like "It looks like this has happened to you the past 5 times" and Im like yeah? I told you that, thats why I asked you to come outside with me and watch me open it. He says something like "Im not saying youre a liar but this has happened way too many times" Im like dude what are you talking about then you are calling me a liar and how could you when I literally opend it and hit it infront of you before hand usually you have people do it after the fact. You saw it didnt hit I said. he says "Yeah I know but still this is too many times. We cant keep giving you free carts. Unfortunately I cant do anything for you today." At this point im angry and annoyed because my man is trying to rob me of what I paid for. and I say What free carts? I just want what I paid for I say it always happens to me and ive never had a problem before every other time the cashiers always are nice and say something like "Oh sorry you had to come around again but at least you get to keep the faulty product (they cant take back the broken one for you even when you offered they make you keep it) and if you can get the broken one open somehow and put it another pen Its like free weed In a way its good luck for you!" and I always say "Gee thanks" because who has time for that I have 5 broken ones from the previous times just laying in my car somewhere Im never going to take the time to do that. Id rather just It work the first time and not have to go through an interrogation at this point im angry and annoyed the guys says "Well the disposables dont even open so" acting like hes sherlock holmes and that everything I just tried telling him was a lie or something. I said why havent you gotten charger like you said you would and why would I even suggest that if i was lying to you, and you saw me open it and hit with your own eyes so how can you think im lying??..To be continued in part 2 I...
Read moreI travel between Hudson, Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties for work and decided to give Zen Leaf a go since it was closest to where I was for the day. A while back, I had signed up for emails and received a 25% off my first purchase coupon, but wound up not going to Zen Leaf that day as planned. Their site does advertise a first tine buyer discount and notes to inquire when purchasing. I also signed up for the free rewards program prior to shopping today so I would have an account ready. I did inquire at check out, and was told I wasn't eligible since I did not have an existing account prior to today. Meanwhile, I had an existing account. The budtender said it can take 24 hours to reflect in their system. I mentioned how I have never purchased prior to today and would like to utilize the first time buyer discount, but he said I have to wait until AFTER my first purchase to receive a discount. This was very confusing to me since most dispensaries in my area offer a first time buyer discount where you do not need an account made prior or even during purchase and you receive the discount same day. It also wouldn't be a first time buyer at that point. I then asked if I could instead use the reward that was showing in my account (received $5 off for signing up) that expires in a few days. I was told no and that I had to wait until my account was activated. However, I did have an active rewards account at that time. I just have a feeling he did something incorrectly. It doesn't make sense that I have an account with my correct information and a coupon in hand that I am being told I am unable to use. He said he would meet me in the middle by offering 10%. 10% is better than the $5 reward, but was still disappointing when I was doing what is considered a large purchase for me and was hassled about the first time buyer discount.
Aside from the discount issues, the experience was poor. I asked for a recommendation for sleep. I told him what strains I have used and enjoyed, and noted I was not as familiar with their brands since Ayr is the closest to where I live. He responded "well Ayr sells our brands". I again asked for a good recommendation to which he asked what I wanted. I said I previously purchased vapes, but am open to flower. His response was just "I never vape, I just use flower, so I can't help with that". This did not make sense to me since a strain is a strain whether it's flower or vape. I then just asked "what is your best seller for sleep" which then prompted him to recommend a vape. I decided to give it a try since it was a brand I have heard of and seemed to have good reviews. It was just odd to me that he felt he couldn't make a recommendation because I might purchase a vape instead of flower when a lot of strains do come in both forms, and I repeatedly said "I will purchase flower". This budtender also seemed to be anti discounts since I found out after the fact the specific vape I bought had a sale of 2 for 20% off. Although I had never tried it, I definitely would have purchased another to try due to the savings.
Finally when I got home, I thought I had the wrong item. I was restocking on a gummy for my husband, and he wanted a second pack to gift to his friend. I showed the budtender a picture and specifically said gummy more than once. The budtender repeated back gummy, and mentioned Verano was repackaging to Encore. As he was showing me the items, I noticed the package was different but figured it was due to the repackaging process. Once I got home and opened the bag, the containers both were still Verano and said lozenges instead of gummies. Receipt says all sales are final, so I figured I could not return them. My husband opened the container and it was gummies inside of the lozenge container, but that is not how the repackaging was explained.
I wish something could be done to remedy the discount aspect, but seems unlikely with how much trouble I was given. Will stick with other dispensaries that have better communication and are actually...
Read moreI've deleted my initial review from April 2025, because it got worse since then. Everyone deserves to have a fair warning on how Zen Leaf is.
I was part of the cabbage club. Was it worth it? Honestly, no. Zen leaf is SOOO expensive, I wasted more money than I saved through the cabbage club (even as a quarter member).
Customer service is garbage. I almost feel bad using the term 'garbage', but it is. It's absolute trash. I'll copy and paste my previous review addressing an employee named Craig. He ruined my birthday deal by speaking down to me, and I felt disrespected by him and the customer service after. Craig would shoot me the DIRTIEST looks the 4 times I tried coming back. At some point I said one experience shouldn't impact the overall vibe I had there, but I was wrong. It was so uncomfortable and contributed to me ending my cabbage club membership. Customer service was always subpar to begin with, I don't think the kindest employee there could make up for it.
After my first review (it was 5 stars but discussed Craig's awful behavior), I started to notice employees coming up on my Facebook people you may know. Fun fact! If people are searching you up, they'll show up there. So essentially, zen leaf employees were searching me up (I saw Connor coming up the most). That was my last straw, that's not okay at all. I feel violated that their employees were using my information on file to search for me. All because I left a review. Do better.
Zen leaf is not worth it at all. It was miserable going there, I will never come back. Quality isn't even good either, why bother paying for expensive, dry flower when I can go to another place (social leaf for example) for fresher product for far less money? Zen leaf is robbing us all blind.
If anyone has read up to this point, PLEASE GO TO SOCIAL LEAF IN TOMS RIVER OR NJ LEAF IN FREEHOLD. YOU WILL BE RESPECTED THERE, THE POINT SYSTEMS ARE BETTER, AND I PICKED UP A Q AND TWO PRE ROLLS FOR $70. Imagine how much that would've costed at Zen leaf? Probably nearly $200 and feeling worse about yourself once you leave the store.
------------------------------PREVIOUS REVIEW--------------------------------------- Zen leaf is great overall, and the cabbage club is a great offer to have for a dispensary. Only thing I'll say is to avoid a bud tender named Craig at all costs. He'll leave a bad taste in your mouth if you're unlucky and get him as your bud tender. I'm setting up time with zen leaf customer support to call today and address his incompetence. He had no knowledge on anything. A bud tender's response to me asking for recommendations should NOT be "well everyone's version of uplifting is different, I don't know what to tell you". Dude.. come on, really? You work here and you're talking like that? I've never had a bad experience with a bud tender until him. The one half assed recommendation he gave is honestly pretty bad, too. No wonder he said "I don't know what to tell you" because he really doesn't. I was unfortunate enough to have him as my bud tender on my birthday. As a female customer, I was also uncomfortable with the way he spoke down to me. I somehow felt stupid for the first time at a dispensary. Craig also used my zen leaf points instead of my cabbage club credit after I asked MULTIPLE TIMES to use my credit and NOT my points. llove every other bud tender here! Craig shouldn't be at a dispensary if that's how he works, it's going to dilute the quality of...
