Island Kitchen Cuisine — Restaurant in Neptune Township

I've heard great things about this place, but I always like to check the newest reviews and the way they are addressed by the owners to make sure it is a place I would like to support and share with others. Unfortunately, I saw a response about delivery drivers and how the owners want their reviews to be based off "genuine customer experiences". As a delivery driver myself, I would refuse an order at this location simply from this response. The delivery drivers are human too and are actually pretty important to your business. If we feel disrespected, you will lose a bunch of customers who order delivery as we will all eventually stop accepting them. Regardless of what happened, to act as if the delivery drivers' experiences in the restaurant are not as important as a customer is beyond me. I don't like the way the owner responded to someone feeling disrespected so I will NOT accept any delivery orders from this restaurant, nor will I order from here. Very friendly and patient customer service via telephone. When the food was delivered, the driver told us that the restaurant employee made sure to let him know NOT to turn the plates onto the side. I thought that to be very considerate. I had the Seafood Fiesta which had the most delicious sauce with enough for a second (maybe third) serving! My husband had the Jerk Shrimp in which he devoured in under five minutes (next time he will get two orders). The portions are perfect. The tastes of various spices are most flavorful. I was craving a beef patty so I called to ask the what flavors they had in store. A gentleman answered, whom was nice. Based on his response, I decided to give them a try. I’m happy I did.the beef patties were 10/10. We tried the chicken and beef patty. The patties were meatie, not empty! I ordered oxtail, w/ rice & peas, cabbage and sweet plantains. That was $29.
