Good Nature Market — Local services in New Haven

Called ahead to see if they had avocados and was told yes. Drove over and parking was awful (not their fault it’s a very busy area) so parked a block away and walked. When I got there a girl told me they had none. They another lady started saying to grab them for somewhere and we do have them so the girl goes back. I wasn’t allowed to walk into the store and see because my dog was with me (again fine but I was not going to leave her in the car a block away in 90 degree heat) so she walked away and brought back “the only two they had” and they were really squishy. You could tell they were brown on the inside cause the top completely caved in. When I said fine if that’s all they have and asked how much it would be for both since I wouldn’t be able to use the whole avocados being they were browning and the second lady came back and said they were $3.50 EACH. For bad avocados. I told her absolutely not and left. I drove 2 minutes up the street to a stop and shop close by and grabbed four avocados at 99 cent each. This place is disappointing with the way they tried to over charge that insanely. My family and I decided to go into this place to get a quick snack. WORST. DECISION. EVER. The woman at the register (Asian lady) was so rude. I touched a snack and put it back in its place since I didn’t want it. Then when we went to pay she started rudely saying “where’s my candy” and telling me that they have cameras. My family and I were super confused to what she was even taking about but then she pointed me out saying that I touched her candy and that there’s camera everywhere capturing me. Like ok?? I don’t care that there’s cameras and her candy was right where it was when I entered. She was accusing me of stealing and kept asking where her candy was. I told her it was “right there” and she told me to go get it and I did. I showed her that I had ZERO intention of stealing her dumb candy. If she’s so scared of someone stealing candy then that’s a her problem and she needs to work on it. Instead of being rude and treating me and my family like robbers. In conclusion go to this place if you want ur day out with your family ruined and to see a rude lady obsessed with her...

I just want to say that I use to love good nature. They kept me going through my late nights but unfortunately lately it has went downhill. I use to be able to go and get sandwiches late at night but now unfortunately as of the last few months if I went to try and get one half the time the deli is closed. Why have a deli open 24 hrs but at 3am I’m not allowed to get a sandwich? They literally have a closed sign on the glass meat display. Also let me not talk about the deli man he is a young man with anger issues who I have heard him curse people out. When he does allow ppl to get a sandwich apparently we are only able to get a breakfast sandwich God forgives I ask for chicken cutlet terrible customer service. Not sure if owner or management knows but he has a really strong marijuana smell I don’t have anything against it but think it’s very unprofessional during working hrs.
