Nawlin's Cigar & Coffee — Local services in New Orleans

My husband and I are not newbies to the cigar world and came in yesterday looking for something newer and maybe more local to add to our collection. A very friendly man from Spain suggested a cigar that we ended up loving and came back today to buy more of this same cigar. What would have been a simple and easy sale of at least $140 per box turned into zero dollars being spent by us.

The woman, who I now know owns the shop, basically told me to shut up while she tried to steer my husband to other more expensive cigars. I actually thought all of this was very funny and amusing at first until I had some questions about the box of cigars we were about to purchase. Then she shut me down, wouldn't speak to me anymore and would only address my husband. When I tried to let her know that I didn't appreciate her tone or the fact that she was being condescending to both of us, she basically told us to leave the store.

For anyone reading this, let it be known that this store is charging 140% MSRP, at least for the box we were looking at. The owner is belligerent. The cigars are not rotated properly and burn unevenly. Save your time and money and go to another cigar shop or cigar bar in the city. Shopping for and enjoying cigars should be a fun and...

the lady running the counter is nightmarish. she is very pushy and rude about selling you more cigars than you want and more expensive cigars than you want. that’s the game in a tourist town, don’t get me wrong. but all we went in for was a soda (because someone i was with was experiencing a time-sensitive diabetic emergency) and we were told there was a $10 minimum for credit card transactions. which is fine, but when we selected a cigar to purchase to meet the minimum, she didn’t ring up the soda with it (despite that we reminded her mid transaction to do so) and then demanded that we purchase another cigar to ring up with our soda. it’s whatever in the end; just be warned that you’re in for a weird encounter with an intense old babushka...

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a cigar shop. Do not go here. I wish I could give less than a star. The lady is extremely rude. I told her that I had an idea of what I wanted and I wanted to browse her selection, but she kept pestering me with suggestions. I wasn’t interested in her suggestions so she told me I was being difficult. Finally, I just bought a cigar I knew would be adequate so I could get out of there. When I was checking out, she asked for a tip which I didn’t feel was warranted so I refused. I paid a premium for the cigar and a Red Bull.
