Update as of Sep 2020: There's new leasing and management staff, who seem more responsive than the prior leasing and management staff. The below reflects prior experiences.
Honestly, not worth the hassle of living here. If you do choose to live here, watch your paperwork and billing like a hawk. The leasing staff is very error prone. A few examples:
They threatened me with eviction after they incorrectly recorded my first payment. (And when I called/emailed repeatedly to find out what payment they were missing, they ignored my calls for days. In the end, it turned out they recorded my security deposit in the wrong column of their ledger.)
They added an amenity fee to my bill (even though I selected the "no amenity fee" option in my application), and they tried to tell me they couldn't reverse course because the "system did not allow them to remove it" once they added it.
My refrigerator did not work for the first three weeks I lived in the apartment. I requested compensation (or at least compensation for the electric bill that was 3x its average due to the broken refrigerator) and was only verbally told "we'll look into it" with repeated ignored emails.
Leasing staff is only responsive when it benefits them. If you email saying you're interested in renewing your lease, they respond instantly saying they'll confirm that. However, they don't respond even when you email numerous times asking to discuss the rent, etc. They do however expect an immediate response from you when they want to show the apartment to prospective tenants. (And they do expect to bring prospective tenants into your apartment, even during a pandemic!)
The apartment is nice but kinda cheap, but I've heard that's the case for most of the new buildings in the neighborhood. But things do break often. (But I should say--the maintenance guys are great, super responsive, and fix...
Read morePros: Doorman are always lovely and professional, definitely one of the main highlight of the building for me. Maintenance crew is timely, cleanly, and facilities are very well maintained. Cons: Unfortunately I believe there has been a lot of turn over on the office management team and I am still waiting on my security deposit after several email exchanges to office management, Grey Star directly and now the new office manager. I vacated the apartment on November 19th, the walk through was conducted on November 20th, so it has now been well over 3 months and I still have not received my security deposit refund, NY State law requires a deposit return within 21 - 45 days max. This is illegal and unacceptable, shame on you Grey Star, for the price tag on these luxury units the move out process is a disgrace. Denay (who is new) was a great help communicating with Grey Star, however, I was under the impression the check was mailed 11 days ago and yet I still have not...
Read moreI've lived in 247N7 for almost two years now and it recently transitioned management from Greystar to Hubb. Recently our wonderful maintenance supervisor (Frankie Alvarez) relocated to a new building and I believe Hubb has yet to hire a replacement. That being said, the staff here are doing an amazing job during the transition and with less individuals on board (Big thank you to Max, Evan, Sam, and Miguel!). I also recently had an issue with my AC unit that was quickly remedied by bringing in the outside AC company. Lastly, I recently dropped an earring down the drain and Artan, a hubb maintenance supervisor from a nearby building, was both successful in finding the earring as well as extremely thorough and thoughtful in managing the task. Just want to say a BIG thank you to the staff for continuing to make living here a really positive experience and I hope that Hubb will find a new maintenance supervisor for our...
