I consistently go to Tony for my cuts. It has actually been years, crazy enough. They always have really good business it seems, so maybe call ahead of time if you’re not already in the area. He is the most experienced and owns the shop so that should tell you enough. But, it seems like everyone does an amazing job and has their own specialty. They have hairdressers of all ages and styles, so it seems like you can find someone that suits your liking. It’s a Chinese/Asian hair salon in Chinatown, NYC so their clientele is primarily Asian but I’ve seen other races who have similar hair textures come in for services. They speak English, so that’s a plus. The prices are very affordable compared to the rest of the city but they still do a quality job. The shampooing lady was the only best thing there. I have been going here for over a year and their prices constantly go higher. I paid $45 last year and today I paid $55 (without tips). The service you will get depends on the hairstylist. Some of them do the best they can and others don't even do the bare minimum. My stylist didn't blow dry my hair properly, he didn't even blow away the hair from my face and neck at the end. After I finished paying and went to grab my bag , the lady in the front desk demanded tips saying that tips are mandatory and minimum 15% tips. Demanding tips is rude! I’ve been coming here for the past 10 years (I know, I can’t believe it myself). I don’t have my go-to person to cut my hair, and that’s because every person that has cut my hair here has always given me a glamming look. The locale is very salon-looking, the staff is friendly and like I said, overall pleasant experience. My most favorite experience is when they wash and condition your hair. For my haircuts, they always shampoo and condition my hair. It’s like a therapeutic experience. Highly recommend this hair salon.
