My wedding dress needed minor alterations, so I called to confirm whether the tailor would take the job, knowing that not everyone works with wedding gowns. She confirmed she could, but mentioned she was on vacation and would return next week. We agreed I would stop by the following Tuesday.
When Tuesday arrived, I called to confirm a convenient time, only to be told she couldn't see me that day because it was too busy. We rescheduled for Thursday of the same week.
On Thursday, I went to the store and was shocked when the tailor told me she couldn't take any more clients for alterations because she was very busy. Given that we had spoken three times before and she had previously committed to taking my dress, I was extremely frustrated. I took a cab to avoid carrying the heavy dress, which was a complete waste of time and effort.
Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the tailor complained about how busy she was after being on vacation for a month. This experience was unacceptable and absolutely unprofessional. After wasting two weeks waiting for her to fix the dress, I now have to scramble last minute to find a new tailor. With this kind of customer service, it seems unlikely you'll retain many clients and stay "very busy" for...
Read moreUpdate: I took a Chanel suit jacket to be taken in (the bust was too large) and have the shoulder pads taken out and then the shoulder altered to fit me perfectly and again superb job! Cost me about $20-$30 which is nothing to have such an expensive suit jacket tailored to fit me. I also brought a Jovani gown that she shortened, has the bust and waist brought in, shoulder straps shortened and it cost $100. For the complexity of the fabric(sequins & mesh overlay and 2 layers of fabric she turned a dress that was easily a size (or two) too big into a perfect form fitting dress.
Original: Just picked up three items that needed tailoring. A tweed dress that needed to be hemmed (and the lining hemmed as well), a tweed skirt that needed the hem to be let out, and a dress that had a large rip along the waist seam near the zipper. She fixed all three beautifully. You can’t tell that an alterations were done which is the sign of a job well done. It was $30 total for all three pieces, which is a...
Read moreWon’t be coming back. Firstly when I went in, 2 older ladies were sitting chatting (which I don’t care it’s fine) but it felt more like I was disrupting a private conversation and they wanted me out. I put on the dress I needed hemmed, and right away, the seamstress made an audible (ugh) sound at the amount of work she had to do for the first. Then the lady she was chatting with made an audible comment about how I looked “like a little girl” in that dress (it legit fits perfect with the exception of the train). Finally, she refused to size me because I didn’t have the exact heels I’d be wearing with the dress. Which again, I would’ve been fine coming back with, but the amount of attitude I got for “bringing her that much work” made this a clear NO. I won’t be back, avoid this place unless you have something Annie deems not a...
