I paid $1,500 to be featured in a group ad organized by Artcorp Inc. (Artifact Projects NYC) for the December 2024 issue of Architectural Digest. I’m a 3D ceramic artist and expected a professional representation of my work. What I got was a dark, poorly printed ad with no context or description — just my name and website. The piece looked flat and dull, and the size was far less visible than others on the same page.
I reached out three times to express my concerns. I received one brief, dismissive response offering a 20% discount on a future ad — and then was completely ignored.
There was no offer for a proof, rendering assistance, or even a chance to add a description — not even for an additional cost. For the amount I paid, this felt misleading and unprofessional. I’m sharing this to help other artists avoid the same mistake.
UPDATE: MY RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESS REPLY BELOW Thanks for finally responding — though this reply is more deflection than accountability.
Yes, I agreed to a small-format ad. What I didn’t agree to was having my 3D artwork flattened, darkened, and stripped of all context — with no heads-up, no proof, and no opportunity to make adjustments.
You admit 3D doesn’t translate well in print. So why not warn artists before taking their money? Why not offer rendering options or a simple description add-on? Instead, I received one dismissive email, then silence after two follow-ups.
And now you’re inviting me to reach out to you again? I already did — three times. That’s not customer care. That’s laziness.
If you want to keep working with professional artists — especially those in 3D — your process...
Read moreI am working with Artfact Projects Gallery for 2 years and it is an exceptional experience for me. Serge is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, true art lover taking care of each segment of exhibiting artworks. He pays attention to every detail whether it is a wall installation of the painting, digital exhibition or featuring it in magazines. Art and artists are in the focus of each event and project he organises. He is very well connected in the art world giving the artists lots of opportunities to meet collectors and present their art in all major ArtShows. The gallery is spacious, with flexible space and high ceiling, with excellent light. It is very well located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood with great curb-side appeal. Personally I recommend Serge and his gallery with all my heart and hope to work with him in the...
Read moreAn exhibition of my art in Serge Gregorian's Artifact Projects Gallery in Suffolk Street has just finished. It was a wonderful experience: Serge was a perfect gentleman throughout. He handled all arrangements and requests calmly and efficiently. He understood what I was trying to portray through my artwork and gave good advice on how to do so. The Gallery itself is well-situated for passing spectators, and is spacious, light and airy. I strongly recommend Artifact Projects.
Wishing you Serge, and your incredible team and all exhibitors well and happiness and continuous success in every way.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
