I've recorded a total of 6 songs with Mike at Behind the Curtains, and I'm so happy with each one! When I came into the sessions, I only had lyrics, melodies, and chord progressions, and Mike was willing to creatively work with me as we put together the rest of the songs. He put time and energy into assuring that my artistic visions were being translated in a way that satisfied me. Whether we were making percussive sounds with staplers or he was pulling out the ole trumpet for me, he always brought crazy cool ideas to the table. Mike is clearly very experienced at his craft and is able to play nearly any instrument you need. Definitely take advantage of his guitar playing abilities if you record with him. I had a really positive experience working with Behind the Curtains Media. From the beginning, they were very professional, organized and enthusiastic about my music and helping to pitch my new single. I could tell they genuinely cared about me and were generous with their personal attention. The results were very very solid, considering I had received very little press to that point. They helped land a premiere at a very reputable blog, numerous other press outlets and also landed my song on some really solid Spotify playlists. Working with Behind the Curtains Media was an incredibly positive experience for us. For three years, we were doing the DIY writing, recording and planning our own tours thing and found ourselves with entirely full plates, unable to do much else. A friend recommended BTCM to us and from our first Skype call, we knew we had found a passionate, professional and present crew.
