My brother and I got high and wanted some good food, so we ordered from Kanan. It took about an hour for it to be delivered, but boy was the wait worth it. First of all, they gave us some nice big portions, I had enough to eat for next day’s lunch and dinner. The food arrived at the perfect temperature, not too hot that we couldn’t dig in. The samosas were filled to the brim and packed with flavor, they were kinda dry but once you added some chutney oh my god it was soooooooo gooood. I ordered the Chana masala and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! So flavorful and it was the perfect balance of chickpeas and sauce, not too runny and not too dry. We also ordered some naan and mango kulfi to eat together and it was heavenly. The naan was nice and fluffy and the kulfi was delicious and still intact, which I was surprised by cuz I thought that since the food came hot the kulfi would have melted but nope! Overall the experience was a 10/10 would highly recommended. I am definitely buying from Kanan again!...
Read moreAwful. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Ordered the Aloo Gobi which was too salty, and on the menu it states - with or without peas. When I ordered it on seamless there was no option to choose with peas or without. I don't know if this is the restaurants's fault, or seamless's but regardless, it was way too salty. Chicken samosas were flavorless and not spiced. At all. Just plain ground chicken and nothing else. No raita included, and the green sauce tasted like straight vinegar, while the tamarind sauce was far too sweet. My naan tasted stale. No utensils or straws included. Lassi, which was definitely not made with fresh mango and came from a pre- made mix... was dark orange and clearly artificially colored, spilled because they placed it in the paper bag sideways!! . I threw my entire order away. Will not be ordering...
Read moreIf I want a vegetarian meal I order Indian. But Indian food is never spicy enough around these parts (read: all of America.) Thankfully, I found Kanan today. I ordered a little of everything: Tandoori Vegetables, Radha Patties, Aloo Saag and Lentil Soup. I heartily recommend the Radha Patties: fried potato cakes with yogurt, chickpeas in a tamarind chutney. So tasty. I measure the quality of a good Indian place by the Saag (spinach) and this place makes one that is perfect in texture and spice. Absolutely delicious.
UPDATE Still the best saag. They have a magical to go fridge! Please don’t forget to pick up dessert: gulab jamun, doughnut bites soaked in rose syrup, and their achaar (pickled vegetables in chili oil): they have the spicy mixed vegetables and a mango chutney that is just the right amount of sweet with a hint of black...
