I write this a day after The occurrence I encountered still flabbergasted that an individual working for Enterprise would be so aggressive and confrontational to the point of leaving me shaking from threats.
I rented a van from Enterprise in Denver Colorado with the express understanding that I would return the vehicle once I arrived in Brooklyn New York. I was told be several individuals at Enterprise that I could return the van at ANY open Enterprise location once I arrived.
When I first pulled up in this Enterprise lot I was greeted by a young lady who stated she would process my return as soon as she found a spot to park the van. Almost immediately thereafter I had the misfortune of encountering "William". He refused to give me his full name even later with 2 police officers present. He very rudely stated "you are not returning that van here!" When I asked why he said he did not have the room when half of the lot was empty (I have pictures and videos documenting everything I am stating.) He became more and more nasty, agitated and threatening saying he would "have the van towed if I left it." He was so angry losing control and began moving Enterprise cars and peeling tires in the process.
I called Enterprise to explain the situation including the fact that I was tired after driving for 3 days and that I was told I could return anywhere and was simply trying to do so. The agent I spoke to told me to leave the van within the lot which I proceeded to do. I left the keys on the front seat as William again in a threatening manner asked me for the keys to drive the van off the lot and have it "towed".
I left and went to dinner with my son and his gf. A little over 2 hrs later I happened to drive by in an Uber and noticed a police cruiser with lights on with two officers inside facing in the wrong direction towards a white van and realized I was in front of Enterprise.
William had vindictively placed the van in the middle of the street with the windows down, no keys, no hazard lights on for the van to either be hit or towed. I explained to the officers what had occurred earlier as they were about to call the explosive squad. I called Enterprise and once again explained the situation at which time they decided to call AAA and have the van towed to another nearby Enterprise location. The agent was shocked by what had occurred and the lack of professionalism on the part of their worker.
The officers asked me to meet them the next day to identify the individual that "placed the public in a hazardous situation." William demonstrated the same atrocious attitude towards the officers refusing to give his last name and starting that he had spoken with his regional manager who told him he did nothing wrong. He lied both to me and to the officers. I paid a $150 drop off fee as this was clearly booked as a one way rental and he changed the fact.
I obviously will NEVER rent a vehicle from Enterprise again and would warn you CLIENTS BEWARE unless you enjoy being treated like dirt after giving them your hard earned money.
Enterprise shame on you for hiring individuals that obviously need anger management and would not think twice of placing individuals in danger simply to be right and...
Read moreLong review incoming... My wife and I had an extremely negative experience at this location. We booked a mid-sized SUV for a 10am Friday pick-up. We arrive at the location a little early and are told that there are no cars currently available but there should be one soon. That staff member we were speaking to eventually tells us that there is a car coming from the State street location and should arrive in 30 minutes at the latest - this is totally fine, we were not surprised by delays considering it was Friday. 20 minutes later we ask for an update, the same staff member tells us "17 minutes". Another 30 minutes go by and we again inquire about the status of the car, the staff member says shes waiting for an update and says "it looks like the car is going in circles right now". She eventually tells us that it might make more sense if we get in touch with the State street location... it's odd that we - the customers - have to handle communication between two branches but whatever. I call State street and say "we're at the park slope location, they say a car is supposed to be coming from you guys." State street has literally no idea what im talking about and says that they received no such communication. I hand the phone to the staff member, she starts talking with the other location. After the staff member finishes the call she hands back my phone and says "they have a car for you, im going to send you guys over there with one of our drivers."... We say fine and get shuttled over to State street. We walk in and tell them the deal, that we were just sent over by park slope and that theres a car for us here. The six employees behind the desk look totally baffled and say that there are no cars and they are completely sold out. We are absolutely astounded. We attempt to get answers from the State street staff but no one is helpful, or can provide clarity on what happened. We try to call park slope back but are repeatedly hung up on or ignored. Essentially the staff member who sent us over lied to us the entire time about a car being available and then punted us over to State street which was equally unhelpful. This was by far the worst car rental experience i have ever experienced and might go down as the worst customer...
Read moreFirst time renting at this location, not my finest experience. I have been a customer and renting from Enterprise for about 10 years now and have always had great experiences at my local branch in Williamsburg.
This time because of proximity I chose the Park Slope location, unfortunately it did not go very well. I had an early morning reservation for work and I was hoping to be in and out quickly, the place was understaffed and they had not much cars available. Someone from the branch even called me before my reservation time to let me know that not all cars had been returned due to the weather the days prior but that my car should be ready by the time of my reservation or even a few minutes later. I got there at the time I was told and there were several people ahead of me and no cars. Finally when it was my turn they had decided to bring us all to another location in Bayridge where they would have more cars.
Long story short, they did not prepare well for the situation, there was lot of inconvenience for everyone who had reservations at that branch. On a positive note, once all that situation was sorted out everyone got their cars, much later than I would have wanted it but they did make it work, specially Mr. Shaffer who came from the Williamsburg branch to help out, he went out of his way to make up for the inconvenience, I want to thank him for...
