Well!! It was a much awaited visit for me.. having only browsed their website, when I finally visited the US, it was a must visit. So, this could be a very biased review!! They have huge collections and almost all brands in most art supplies you'd want.. so absolutely check it out if you're around and looking for something you aren't finding usually. Their rates are really reasonable, especially when you bulk buy. The staff was super awesome and helpful too! And if you register as a preferred customer, you can avail their online rates which are even cheaper!! Disclaimer: you'd be spending much more than you'd wanted to, so do allow for that!! 😀 Note also that all of their stores are not as big.. so try going to the larger ones for more options like SoHo or 20th street one opposite Trader Joe's.

I don't even know what to say right now, this staff is exceptional. Every person I've had to ask for help or general questions practice kindness and show pride dealing with all the things retail + midtowny people-y artists all over the place. (I'm definitely a person who often feels she's monopolizing people's time when asking questions.) Really, thank you, not just for me but others I've seen you assist and support in achieving their creative goals. Thanks for answering my questions, going above and beyond with my custom framing, and not being annoyed when asked about experiences and/or opinions about products. I get the sense they're generally excited to be creatives helping other creatives and that's really why I shop there. (Random photos of supplies in use.)

One of the best sales is happening now at this store. We were lucky enough to purchase a 150 count Prismacolor for 93.00 after using my Blick rewards card, normally this would be 312.00. They have ALL art materials on sale! The staff is always there Wonderful to answer any questions you may throw at themJust head over and enjoy the fun!

One star for the only kind, helpful, patient staff who had done his job right and prepared items for hold correctly, yet got blamed by his own LAZY and RUDE staffs and manager. Staff at the register could not find the item on hold (ok, honest mistake) then tell me to go downstairs find it myself đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž Second staff Mr. attitude came in and say everything but one item is missing and tell me to go get it myself. Asked him check the size of another item on hold as things have to go together. Then he said “don’t you have it with you? It’s your project why aren’t you being top of you project?” Mind you, I am on top of my project, hence, called in advance to check availability and request hold for very specific time, hence, left important documents with specifications home for picking up large volume of items from multiple stores. Miscommunication and attitude continue: he came back with wrong dimensions and tried shush away the manager who came over to resolve the situation. The manager came and continuously talk/excuse while I emphasize that I am in rush multiple times. Then voilĂ , the items were behind the counter the whole time. So the staff who answered my call yesterday, and who was getting all the blame from everyone actually did his job right. It just that everyone else was too busy being rude to actually check it thoroughly. The finale: when I expressed my surprise for the price, the manager said “do you want to check it yourself?” then pushed the monitor to me so hard it almost hit my face. Never had an experience as bad as today with any Blick for years of doing art in NYC. what happened? Did COVID really wipe off every good staff? (Expect the one who answered my call yesterday. I appreciate you. Thank you)...

It pains me to write this review because I have a lot of love for Blick, but my last trip there they really messed up and it all could have been prevented by Blick with some more attention to detail and improved customer service.

I was interested in custom framing during their 50% off sale. I have 5 items I wanted to get a quote on and called into the store twice before coming to confirm the sale and that I needed to come into the store for a quote (no quotes over the phone which is very reasonable). They told me both times to just come in and not a single mention of needing to make an appointment.

Took 2 subways with the art to the store, got on the framing line, was then asked by the framing person if I had an appointment. I said no I didn’t know I needed one and twice on the phone was told to just come in. The employee shrugged and returned to working with her current customer.

On my way out I asked the employee working at the cashier about making an appointment. They only had 1 slot left at a time that conflicted with my work schedule. I mentioned as feedback over the phone if somebody calls in about custom framing they really need to mention you need to make an appointment and its not walk in. To their credit they were apologetic but also didn’t offer any solutions.

I walked over to Michael’s across the street. No appointment needed. 3 people working in framing, and when a line started they pulled somebody off the floor to help. Great experience at Michael’s compared to Blick and best of all their sale was 70% off. I will not (unfortunately) be doing any more business at Blick after this experience nor will I ever recommend them. Please take this feedback to improve...

Good afternoon everyone. I just wanted to come here and share my horrible experience with blick art material. In Covid-19 Time, we are all trying our best to be safe, to survive and move a long. I have been wearing a face mask (shield) since Covid started not once did I get yelled at or kicked out of a store for having a face shield, (it's been 8 months) today I walked in to blick art material, I was greeted with a loud you need a mask, so I politely answered I do have a mask, it's a long face mask front my head down to my neck, I have been wearing this for the past 8 months and I never heard anything about a face shield not being a mask. The lady was very dismissive and was showing me the door, with her finger, now this not a case of a Karen, I wish they put at their door a picture the kind of mask they don't want people to walk in their store with. I felt so disrespected, And humiliated I reached out to customer service and ask if there was a certain kind of mask that was required, the lady on the phone said something that will cover your mouth and nose, so I told her I did better, not only did I cover my nose and face I covered my whole face down to my neck. She told me she would call the store manager and tell them that the face shield was a mask. That's outrageous, in 8 months they haven't figured that out????? Anyway we are living in crazy time let's be nice/cordial /polite to each other. Even if I was in the wrong a simple "good afternoon ma'am, this kind of masks are unfortunately not acceptable in our stores, we are sorry for the inconvenience. " would have been fine. We have...
