They serve amazing dishes. We had the cuban sandwich (cubano) , maduros, empanadas and we even got some amazing chicken chicharon on the house.
They have large menu of options including a buffet. They recently reopened after closing during covid.
The cubano was perfect, including the bread which was light and crisp. The filling of ham, pork, swiis cheese and mayo was on point. The pork had a nice touch of garlic and pepper.
The empanadas were really good. I preferred the beef over the chciken. Chef said the beef tasted like a beef chili. The crust was light and buttery. The filling perfectly seasoned.
A Chef I know took me here. He loves coming here as he and his wife travel to Peurto Rico a lot and love this type of cusine.
The maduros were perfect havent had them in a while and hit the spot.
The staff was very friendly and hooked us up with chicken chicharŕon on the house. It was fantastic! Seasoned well and crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside.
We ate all fo this for $20
Definitely want to come back and try their hot buffet meals like...
Read moreA gem in this part of the neighborhood that offers affordable and tasty food in an area where woke liberal NYC transplants raised the prices of all once affordable eateries. Got the chicharrón, it was different from what I was used to but it was moist and well seasoned. Came out to about $12 for an order of Chicharrón and two pieces of fried cheese which is a steal nowadays thanks to Bidenflation.
For those of you uncultured swines in the review: when you see a sign that reads ‘Spanish Food’ in mom and pop or hole in the wall eateries, it’s most likely Caribbean (Puerto Rican or Dominican) or Latin American food they’re referring to. I get it it’s misleading but that’s how it is here in NYC. They say Spanish people but what there really referring to are Hispanics or anyone that speaks Español. Spanish people from Spain have no reason to immigrate or even move to NYC or the U.S. unless for a higher paying job.
Best of all Credit...
