Buddy's Dog Den — Local services in New York

I have to share that I was a very loyal customer for the past 5 years to this establishment. I am very picky when it comes to where I take my dog. I read reviews and visited several before I felt comfortable with Buddy’s. I brought my dog for grooming every few weeks with joy and delight only because of the groomer Peter. Today changed everything. Peter took care of my dog like a true Queen he loved her and always did a great job. I would text him photos to make him smile. I called to book a grooming appointment and was told without compassion or consideration for the emotional impact that Peter died. “Grooming is suspended our groomer died” I was absolutely shocked! I couldn’t believe it and further more that we as loyal customers hadn’t received an email or a call so we could offer condolences especially to the family and be informed. I shared that feedback and was told “ok have a good day”. I have always found that the service here was mediocre in fact I have used the terrible customer service I experienced here a few times as case studies for sales trainings I conduct focused on what not to do. I kept returning here however because of Peter. It should also be noted that after I provided my feedback I received a horrific nasty message from the manager. It was intense defensive and nasty. The fact that they don’t even take feedback tells me a lot about a business. If Peter wasn’t there I wouldn’t have returned. I have now found another great groomer. There are so many amazing places to bring your business and your beloved dog. I do not recommend Buddy’s at all. Sending you love Peter we loved you and appreciated...

We took our new rescue to Buddy’s for his first haircut. He was matted and super grown-out from being in a shelter. We heard great things about Buddy’s and decided to try it. His groomer, Lissie, was not only lovely, she gave him an adorable haircut and took pix so we could see how matted her was under all that fur! Should also mention that he is nervous in new environments with new people, and he was completely calm with Lissie and the staff at Buddy’s. I felt they took extra special care of him and we will absolutely be going there...

Buddy’s dog den is such a great and safe place for daycare and grooming! So devastated that Peter their beloved groomer passed away very recently. Also writing this review to address the new 1 star reviews upset over lack of grooming. And the one unhinged woman that is on an attack rampage on buddy’s for learning of peters death when calling to book an appointment… girl his services aren’t even arranged yet of course it’s going to take a minute to let customers know.
