Build-A-Bear Workshop — Local services in New York

Terrible experience. I did not get the “build a bear experience “. They were lazy and the one guy that had a customer he was super nice to them because they’re Hispanic like him and not only that but he took extra long with them knowing we were waiting for him to finish. And I know he took extra long because I am a regular customer at build a bear for years since my kids were babies so I know how it goes. Thankful for the employee that stepped in and helped us which didn’t take long at all for us to finish and check out so that alone was also confirmation that other employee took extra long on purpose . Also I was asked to stand somewhere else which is by the glass over looking the mall. I don’t like standing there because I am afraid of heights so standing there I felt very very uncomfortable and any build a bear I ever visited , you always wait behind the next person that’s waiting to fill the bear. But then a Hispanic family came and they wasn’t asked to stand by the glass, in fact they stood where I originally was standing and nothing was said to them. The city is bringing immigrants here and giving them free housing and jobs, just for them to take over and treat their own race with respect versus treating everyone with respect. Went to get my 2 year old her birthday bear yesterday. Since shes only 2 and not verbal yet shes not into the whole accessories aspect, just wanted the bear. I told the woman at the kiosk that we werent interested multiple times. Because the wait was so long my toddler was antsy and at that point we just wanted to get the bear and go. The worker seemed extremely annoyed and still insisted we get an add on to the point it was making me and my husband uncomfortable. I said 3 times, no we are good we just want the bear. Then she rudely said "well do you want the birth certificate ITS FREE" which then made me feel like she was insinuating we didnt have money, it wasnt about money it was that my 2 year old doesnt care about that stuff at this age. We did the same for her 1st birthday and wanted this to be a tradition, next year she can pick out add ons but i doubt we will be going back to...

I would give this place a zero star if possible.. I live in the westchester area. I called before arriving they said they close at 8 I arrived at 715 only to than be told they we're closed and all registers are off. I showed the so called manager Jessenia Gonzalez that I had called before coming she told me yeah I understand you called but I closed the register so I can’t help you. So than I asked her if there’s anything she can do for me being that she agreed she had made the mistake.She turned around and called the security (Which they was on my side) and processed to say how I was Harassing her to please remove me and my two children who I do not get to see so often from the both.
