short: It's a fun and clean place to work out with classes, showers, and towel service included. The ambient lighting is beautiful and inviting. money-saving tip: check with your employer to see if you're eligible for the corporate rate, which is about 30% discount off the monthly rate
long: I inquired about the corporate rate for my employer. I was excited to learn that it's about 30% off. I met with Louis that day after work. He gave me a tour and explained things. I really appreciate the exceptional experience he provides. I signed up immediately. The place just feels right. Unlike other gyms like Planet Fitness and blink where I want to leave as soon as possible, this place I actually want to stay, relax and recover, then workout more. The classes really make the membership price alone worth it. I work in an office so I'm sitting down all day, therefore I need movement and I get it from the classes. I did sign up for a dozen personal training sessions, and it's worth it. Jordan, the lead personal trainer, is very knowledgeable to a point that it shows he has a master degree in it. My personal trainer is Octave, a former soccer player. He is very patient and positive. This is the first time that I felt that the personal training was actually customized for my goals. In the past I had a personal trainer at blink and the guy seemed to have one general plan for everyone because he didn't incorporate anything I asked for and when I confronted him about it he insisted that I need a general plan to get in shape. I canceled after the third session. Max and Brandon are also great. Now, this location does get crazy crowded, especially on Mondays. Basically: Monday to Wednesday is crowded. The great thing is that almost no one does legs at this location,so those machines are available every day and night. The first day I went, a girl had her personal belongings scattered on the machine and on the seat of a leg machine. I thought it was the girl on the next machine and she informed me that the girl is on the other side of the room. I approached her to ask if she finished using the machine, while she was busy crab-walking with a resistance band, and she told me that she had one more set to do. I was like oh no not on my first day I can't tolerate this, so I went downstairs and informed Louis that a girl was holding a leg machine hostage while she was doing a different work out at the other side of the room. He went upstairs and took care of it right away. Ever since, I mostly just do legs, personal training, and classes. I am very happy here. In comparison to Equinox, which I also joined, this is the smart choice: bang for the buck, and no twelve month commitment. Equinox does have refrigerated minty fresh towels that I do love. Highly recommended.

Read moreI've been going to Crunch gyms on and off for 20 years. I am also a former personal trainer at a national high-end gym so I know a bit about gyms. This is one of the worst Crunch gyms unfortunately. The only ones that were worse were ones that I went to years ago before Crunch updated most of their gyms. There are 2 main issues with this gym.
2)The equipment and space is old. Particularly the treadmills and stair climbers. Get some new ones. The downstairs turf area is very nice though. That too gets a little crowded but it is nice, new and spacious compared to the rest of the gym.
I go to this gym because I have an annual membership and it is now the most convenient to get to. I hate trying to lift there. It's practically impossible because of the crowds. I have never had a problem getting a treadmill but as mentioned, they are incredibly old. Crunch has some great gyms and I am a big fan - such as the FiDi location. It has some inherent advantages in that it is newer, much bigger and likely has less members. But, it is a beautiful gym that I enjoy going to. Every Crunch should be as pleasurable as that one. It's unfortunate that I dread going to the...
Read moretwo week ago I requested a week trial at the Chelsea branch. Max called me and he was helpful. I worked out and really loved everything. I'm in new york for a work and will be couple of month. So my bank card was ordered and not ready for this moment and i was not able to pay by card bit i had apple pay but it does not work. the machine had a problem. So Max told me that I can pay by cash and when i came second time they dont expect that. i lost a lot of time just purchasing my membership. So I went to another branch to try - this branch is located on 54th street. They expect cash and open to me membership. I decided to continue and switch to the Chelsea location. Max did some paper and the was another guy as weel. they told me just bring the card when its will be ready to update on ur profile. which one was fine i think. when i left the branch i received one call from manager JOHN, whos telling me that i cant use my membership. funny fact is that, he was there when i switched my membership to the chelsea. Management has really serious problem about communication with staff how to explain to the customers the gym rules. this is serious problem. I really was okey if the gym says U CAN PAY ONLY BY CARD. I really liked the gym but the staff had a really miscommunication problem about the rules. I decided that day to cancel my membership. I still haven't received my refund check at the address. and nobody has the answer about that. This is horrible experience which one...
