I am a huge fan of jazz so when I heard that a jazz performance takes places at Chelsea Table and Stage - I was super excited, purchased 2 tickets $45/each close to the stage (considering the pandemics - this is a substantial expense for lots of people!) I was looking incredibly forward to the evening. The venue was beautiful, we ordered food and drinks and the show has started. As soon as the music was on - the woman from the audience who sat right in front of us (we were in the second row of tables) put her arms in the air with her mobile phone max and started recording the performance. Neither me or my friend could see half of the show as her phone was literarily in our faces. We didn't want a confrontation, hence kindly asked the waitress to help us with the situation. The waitress saw the rudeness of the woman in front of us, confirmed that the situation was ridicules and and told me that she would immediately speak to the manager about this. 40 minutes later !!!! (during this whole time - the woman continued recording the show without any regard of the people behind her ) a man walked over to me and said: "I heard you were looking for me?" and I said: ", I don't even know who you were?" "I am the manager of this place", the man proceeded.
I was caught off guard by such strange and unprofessional introduction, but since the situation was really frustrating - I shared with him that our experience was completely spoiled by the fact that we couldn't see most of the show. Meanwhile the musicians were playing the last song of their show, so I knew that at this point - there wasn't anything that could be done. And the manager responded: "I could move you elsewhere or would you like some champs as a compensation?" and I said:" what is champs?" "Champagne", he responded. I declined the offer and he walked away. Never have I been so insulted at a restaurant. Completely unprofessional and not classy. Terrible customer service, absolutely terrible. I don't know how this man even gets to manage such a beautiful place. I am posting this review on every possible...
Read moreWow! Just wow, wow, wow... !!! Thank you to the head chef because this was a gem of a find.
My co-worker was staying in the hotel and we popped in to grab something lite to eat after a work team event, fully expecting the usual bar fare (we went into the area just off the lobby, not the larger area where the live music is). When the food came out we were so pleasantly surprised, and over the moon once we started eating. There were 4 of us, we ordered 4 small plates. The wrapped chicken came on a nice wood paddle and there were 5 perfect wraps. We expected tiny bar size bites, but these were bigger. It took 4-5 bites to eat one, just to give you an idea of size. SO GOOD!! We also ordered the poké, which came with a beautiful puffy rice "sheet". The tuna was fresh and delicious and plenty for 4 people. Next was the Truffle Potato Fripps - nicely seasoned, very nicely sliced, like an au gratin. You were biting into an actual piece of potato, not something thin like a chip. Several slices on the plate and plenty for 4 people. Lastly was the Corn Ribs - holy cow... !!!! Mexican style elote street corn - grilled and charred to perfection, but instead of the entire cob being served, it was quartered, which gave it the "rib" look. The corn was not over or under cooked. It was perfection, cooked yet still had a crisp to it. WOW were they good, and the presentation was clever. Anytime I'm in the area and want something lite yet flavorful, I won't hesitate to stop in again. In fact, I work a few blocks away and wouldn't hesitate to stop in and have dinner for one. I want to try the main/large plates now!!

Read morefor the first 4 shows i’ve attended here, i’ve had nothing but lovely service and a great time at each show. however, on this past visit, my friend and i had bar seats (instead of the usuals sitting down we have) and let me tell you they treated us like we we’re basically the lowest valued customers. the hostess lady was even “oh we prioritized all the seated people’s orders first and then put yours at the bottom) but whatever, i this ordered food and by the time it came, the show was 3/4ths over (even tho the lady insisted that we didnt wait basically the entire show which we did). by the time i was done with me meal, the show ended, so i could barely enjoy it with the lights up and people chatting (i wanted to eat during the show and i was starving that day) and the servers just gave me so much attitude thruout the night, and i noticed it was different staff than the last visits, because the last group of staff treated me with so much kindness. the show itself (samantha pauly from six the musical) itself was amazing that i saw there and the venue happens to be aesthetically pleasing and has nice acoustics. highly reccomend getting a table instead of siting by the bar for the full experience, even if it is more expensive because trust me it will be worth it. the margarita pizza and branzino on the menu are delicious! hope next time, my friend and i will have a...
