Lash artist Aya was very friendly, she and the other Foula staff were very professional and courteous and made me feel welcome and kind of like royalty. They took time to consult with me what look I want. I went with the natural look (as opposed to a celebrity doll look) as I wear natural makeup. I was worried if the changes would be too subtle, but I'm super happy with the result :) and my friends and family keep commenting on how lovely the lashes compliment my face.
The seat and space was cozy and comfortable. The fuzzy blanket almost made me sleep (which I'm sure you can).
The process took 1.5 hours, but for re-touch (after 4-6 weeks?) the session will be shorter.
Anything to do with the face and especially the EYE, I do alot of research. I looked into the products they use. Safe, hypoallergenic, (vegan, non toxic as on the poster outside) and made in Japan. High quality, expensive stuff. Lash artists who use this really care about their clients and their art. Eyes stings slightly afterwards like it does elsewhere but ask for fanning/air and it went away quickly.
I was confident with Aya because she is in the profession for 12+ years and trained in Japan where they are famous for having rigorous training. She was gentle and quick and I felt every lash being cleaned and treated with care. I don't want anyone touching my eyes but recommend Foula staff. Also she really cares about bringing people happiness. What a lovely person. Super fluent in English too and a local.
The store is bright and clean. There are two steps at the front of the entrance (not recommended for wheelchairs) but one can ask for help. Clean Japanese technology washroom at the back.

Eyelash extensions are already expensive, but I know what they use here are of high quality.

Read moreHonestly, I am not a fan. These extensions are very expensive compared to regular acrylic because they are advertised to be long-lasting and healthier. It has barely been a week and they are falling out like crazy for me even though I have had extensions for years and know proper care. I also saw that the lash tech didn’t glue a most of them close enough to the lash line so you can see the my own lashes straining with extension applied half way through which defeats the whole healthier claim. I also made a mistake of buying their lash shampoo which is filled with the most obnoxious perfume and cost a ton. I feel that I have significantly overpaid for what I got. I don’t know if it’s the technician who didn’t do a great job or it’s just overpriced in general. It’s also wild that when they spin that iPad around for a tip the smallest you can do is 20% on a service that’s over $200. So I feel like I overpaid for service and overpaid for a tip for something that I don’t really like and will barely...
Read morePay 250 USD. Because they offered me Cashmere, which was supposed to be the best quality. Before being attended to, I specifically requested that the eyelashes be noticeable and visible, but I ended up with even less than my own lashes. They never tried to resolve the issue or offer a solution, and they knew I wasn't satisfied but didn't reach out to make any improvements. I'm not asking for a refund, I don't want the money back. I just want a job that I will be pleased with. I will never go back there again.
Do not spend your money
After this review, I received a call offering me a new appointment at no cost. However, when I arrived at the new appointment, they refused to do anything unless I paid another $200 to get more eyelash extensions. What a disappointment, such poor service. I feel cheated. This type of establishment shouldn't even be operating next to a good hotel like the one where...
