Highly recommended! Purchased a 60 min facial from Groupon and really enjoyed it. The interior is really modern and nice. Will definitely come back with family + friends.
I was a bit lost as to where the spa is, but make sure to find a door that has ânew crystal skin careâ labeled on the staircase. And you can walk up the stairs, and the spa place is right there. Make sure to ring the doorbell so they can open the door for you.
If youâve purchased from Groupon before, youâll know that the business owners always ask for tax money in person since Groupon doesnât cover it (I paid $5 per person, which is pretty normal)
I called ahead of time and made a reservation and they were kind to call me the day before to remind me about the appointment.
I booked it for 2 people, and we had our own room together. (Only thing is the rooms arenât fully covered in the ceiling so if someone in the next room is talking loudly youâll be able to hear them)
At the reception desk, the lady was really nice and told us to sit on the couch. We then showed our Groupon and she made sure to help us click âview voucherâ and she had no problem accepting the coupon. (Previously, Iâve experienced a situation where a salon would tell me to cancel the coupon on the app so I can pay the price in person, but Iâm glad it was an easy transaction with the Groupon voucher here)
She brought us to our room and we settled in and put our coats on the cute hangers on the wall.
Iâm glad they have a blanket for us so we can stay warm while we get a facial.
For the 60 min facial:
They begin by rinsing your face with water and then applying a soften cleanser on your face, while massaging your face (the scent smelled like cucumber)
Afterwards, theyâll bring a machine that blows hot steam on your face. And then theyâll extract pores from your face (it may hurt depending on your pain tolerance and the amount of blackheads you have. My bf said it hurt a lot for him because of the amount of blackheads he has and it was his first time trying a facial)
She also asked if I wanted my eyebrows trimmed, which was pretty nice since I thought it was just a facial.
And then theyâll apply a mask on your face and put a plastic cover on top so that the mask doesnât dry up. (The plastic smell kind of bothered me since it has a Saran Wrap smell, but my bf was fine with it)
Afterwards, she rinses my face and applies a cream or something that smells like cucumbers while massaging my face.
Lastly, she told me to sit up straight and helped massage my back for a bit. Was a bit shocking since I was getting used to waking up, but a bit refreshing since my back was a bit cramped from laying down for a while.
For the service and price I paid for, it was really good!! The only thing that bothered me was the clock in the room, I was trying to fall asleep to the background piano music, but all of a sudden my attention was towards the clock ticking at the wall. So perhaps if they removed it, I wouldâve fell asleep.
But regardless, will definitely come back. My skin feels really smooth and...
Read moreHaven't been since moving back to NYC, so I was excited. Place smelled bad from entry, which shocked me. Once in the room, I realized it was the bed linens, which they probably don't change/wash enough. I definitely didn't want to keep them on me. They also didn't have any oil diffusers going, which I do recall from previous visits. There was also no spa music playing, just staff talking to each other, and one of them walking back and forth coughing the whole time I was there, which made me want to leave several times.
Then, the receptionist tried to do my facial, but had to leave several times to tend to customers, plus didn't seem to know what she was doing when she returned, so I just asked for someone else, which they obliged. The next person did seem to know what she was doing, but also kept having to step out to handle issues, then I got a rush job. I was just disappointed overall, and don't plan on going back there. It just wasn't a spa experience, that was something else.
Maybe it's run by new management or something. Just not what I was used to from Crystal Spa. It always was a much better experience than this. I wasn't going to put a negative review, but I really want them to maybe have someone read/explain this, so that things can change for the customer's experience. I used to accept whatever they upsell during my facials, but this time I just wanted to leave. I also usually leave a bigger tip. I just didn't want to leave without tipping at all. It's annoying to have to find another place now, this was my place for years. Maybe new owners. It's...
Read moreI've been a loyal patron of this spa for over a decade, initially following Tina from her previous workplace to this establishment. Now, my entire family frequents this spa. They offer packages that allow for installment payments, which is beneficial for those prioritizing skincare within a budget.
Tina has been an invaluable asset. I first sought her expertise during my teenage years to address minor skin issues, and she effectively resolved them. Thanks to her consistent care and guidance, my skin has remained healthy and clear over the years.
During each visit, a personalized skin analysis is conducted to determine the most suitable treatment. I used to have facials monthly, but now, in my thirties, I opt for bi-weekly sessions, and the results have been remarkable.
I highly recommend this spa for anyone seeking quality...
