Im just so disappointed on their behavior. I will never go this restaurant anymore. I saw so many good reviews on this restaurant. That’s why I wanted to try for myself. So at first my all over experience was pretty good. Cz I went alone. The girl who was in reception she just asked me once everything okay or not. Then she didn’t ask me anything. But I don’t complain about it Cz I was alone and I didn’t need to too much customer service. After I pay I was waiting for the girl she didn’t came to so I thought okay everything is good and since I already got my receipt and since she’s busy maybe I might good to go. There’s so many restaurants I visit in my life I never saw anyone to do this type of behavior only for tips!! I never see any of the places where you can force for the tip!! I literally came outside of the restaurant the receptionist girl literally ran to me with her payment machine and in the middle of the street she literally saying I didn’t pay! I’m like what are you talking about I showed her the receipt and then she’s like no you’re not finish you have to add tips!! It was soooo embarrassing for me in front of so many customers and in front of other peoples She can call me in the restaurant she didn’t have to do it in the middle of the street! That’s a harassment. Stop doin this type of harassment with your customers. If you need your tips simply add to your receipt.

First of all, this is hands down the best Thai place I've ever been to. I have ordered and eaten at Boon Chu for the past 5 years of living in Elmhurst, and have never had a bad experience. They have THE best Pad Thai, such a great ambiance, wonderful staff (at the restaurant, and for delivery), the list could go on and on. It's an unassuming place with beautiful art and decor... , oh and in the warm weather they have an ice cream cart outside!! In a neighborhood FULL of Thai restaurants, this place stands out as being consistently the best, in food, ambiance, affordability, and service. I never write reviews, but I was inspired to today because this local restaurant made me feel so appreciated as a customer and human. I had a chat recently after ordering food about how sad I was to be leaving town, and how much I would miss Boon Chu...and weeks later,i open my delivery and see THE CUTEST MESSAGE, it actually made me *almost* tear up. I love this place , I love all the people there and i wish I could bring them to Massachusetts with me when I'm gone.

My family and I have been coming to boon chu for about 6/7 years now and celebrated all our big and small moments with boon chu. But for past 2/3 times we came here from really far, and we saw that there was space for us 3. So there was another party of 2 people were ahead of us, and there were two tables for party of 2 available. The host asked us for how many people and she tells us that there would be wait for 30-35 minutes for us to be seated. I don’t comprehend why we would have to wait for 30-35 minutes and a prty of 2 were seated on a table for 3. The food is too notch and I always promote this place with all of my friends and family and have referred them to this place. But today was the third time we experienced this. That’s what brought me to this review. Hope this does not go unnoticed and the owner could do something to elaborate the space a little. Thank you and good luck.

If not for all the janky things that went on when I came here, I would have hands down gave this place 5 stars. I got the pad kee mao and on the menu, it said it's stir-fried noodles with basil and sauce, so I asked whether it came with vegetables (because pad kee mao in other Thai places in NYC, other USA states, and in Thailand always come with vegetables). The waitress said I can choose a meat, and vegetables can be it. I asked if there was tofu included in the vegetables, and she told me I could add tofu but it would be $2 extra. At least she told me it'd be $2 extra. I asked whether I could have half and half and she said no, and I have no idea why they can't do half and half, unless the vegetables and tofu are already measured out by portions. I said okay though because I really wanted the tofu because from the Yelp pictures it looks tasty, and I can't imagine eating pad kee mao without vegetables. But after that, I realized I'm paying $2.50 (including tax and tip) for a handful of vegetables which is most definitely a rip-off. So I was pretty salty about this the whole time. I also asked for it to be spicy. The dish came out piping hot after a few minutes, and it was great. The tofu was fried tofu but soft after getting stir-fried into the rest of the dish, and there were a lot of vegetables (and good variety too). The noodles were a bit clumpy though which wasn't ideal but they were still chewy and firm. The balance of noodles to vegetables/tofu was really off though, way too much of the latter and not enough noodles. The meal came out to be $9.74 post-tax, and I gave a credit card to which the waitress told me they can't take card less than $10. I told her with tip, it'd be more. She repeated what she said but said it's only 25 cents short so do I just want to charge that much? I said yes, just charge that much (and I'll just tip as I would've tipped before). She handed me an iPad (I think it was Square actually) to enter the tip which I did, and then I left. I think what they should do is just include the vegetables into the dish already. What kind of restaurant has pad kee mao without vegetables? What exactly are you trying to save here, how much money can those...

Did I come in at a weird time? The food was mediocre and that might be too much of a compliment. Service was really awkward...Perhaps it's because we were a party of 4, but only ordered 3 dishes that they assumed we were going to share food...I've never been offered empty plates to share without asking.

Then I was like okay, whatever..I ordered the green curry with CHICKEN. I don't know where other people come from, but I expect food in a bowl or a plate. How did two RAW pieces of chicken end on the bottom of my curry bowl? Ugh. Totally lost my appetite then...The curry wasn't even that flavorful either. All I tasted was spice.. I thought I was supposed to have a CHICKEN curry, not a bamboo shoot curry. There were at most 2 pieces of chicken in that curry..perhaps the one outside my bowl were supposed to be cook and inside instead. Who knows?

The weirder thing is that the person who was cooking, kept going in and out of the kitchen and handing out the checks to customers. Um... what? Isn't that what the waitress supposed to do? Sanitation is important, how do you handle money and cook at the same time is beyond me..

I just got home, so I'm still hoping I don't get sick...from the raw chicken and money-handling chef...

Not coming back here anytime soon. There are plenty other regular places I'd rather go to than try this...
