I can't say enough about the quality of Customer Service exhibited toward me at this establishment every single time that I have visited this store but especially on today. I was so grateful and overwhelmed with joy that I felt compelled to write this review, which is something that I never do. I have made many purchases at this store and the quality of their coats do not go unnoticed. Every time that I wear any of the jackets/coats that I have purchased from this store "I receive several compliments'
However it is a totally different reason that has prompted me to write this review. I basically wanted to give some insight on the fact that there are still honorable, stand up, legitimate business owners with integrity. I made a purchase of 2 jackets in 2021 which were gifts for my daughters however after gifting each of them with the jackets one of them needed to be exchanged for sizing purposes. Upon returning the jacket back to the store I learned that they did not have the size that was needed. Therefore, I should select something different however, the more I looked the more indecisive I became FYI: If you've never been you should make a visit because the options at Daniel Leathers are endless. David, who I must say is one of the most Patient, Kind and Customer Friendly Salesman' that I've encountered in a very long time suggested that I try on a few jackets and he would then take some pictures so that I could forward them to my daughter. My daughter didnt respond timely therefore David issued me a Store credit because I didn't want to take the jacket back home with me. I told him I'd return the following week which did not occur. Life started to get really busy then before I knew it, the Season changed to Summer and then next came Fall and I still hadn't revisited the store. Now, Winter was coming upon us and my daughter was inquiring about her coat, which prompted me to search for the Store credit however I could not locate it. Now, some time had gone by since I had originally began my search for the Store credit therefore I decided to reach out to the store hoping they had a record of the transaction. A young lady named Carla picked up the phone and I explained my situation to her as she listened so attentively, she was very kind in her response to me. She took my number and said that "She'd search through their records for the receipt. Carla kept me updated through text of the status of her search which resulted in her not being able to locate any evidence of the transaction. "I Thanked Her' for her efforts and I started looking for the receipt yet again, to no avail. Now, fast forward to August of 2023 I had almost given up when I decided to make a final attempt to reach back out to the store and this time "Daniel, the owner answered the phone. "HE IS THE BEST' I explained the matter to him and he asked "Do you know the amount of your purchase? Do you remember when you made the purchase? "What's the name on the ticket? Do you remember who your Salesperson was? I gave him the information that he requested "He then asked that "I give him a day or two and he'd be in touch. I hung up the phone not knowing what was going to be the outcome. This was mostly due to the fact that I had minimal physical evidence of my own to present to them which meant that I was relying heavily on Daniel and his staff to look through their records/ ledgers in an attempt to try and make me whole again and that is exactly what was done. Daniel called back that same day and informed me that he had found the receipt and "Asked when can I come in? My answer was Saturday, September 2nd. When I arrived Daniel was there and David again, assisted me in finding a replacement.
The level of integrity that was exhibited by Daniel in the resolution of this issue shows that he genuinely cares about his customers and there is no doubt that "Their furs and leathers are A1and speak for themselves!!

I was randomly walking past Daniel's Leather in the Lower East Side heading to 2nd Street store. I didn't intend on shopping, but I recognized the name and popped in. Gave them their flowers, a bit of praise and recognition - I mentioned I know about their store because of a few tv shows and celebrities posting them on social media when I was active on there.
The energy was great when I walked in. It was Victor and his ex sister in law - I forgot her name, but she's friendly as well.
I was excited about the day! They're feeding off my energy, we're all happy. I start to try on some furs out of curiosity - because I had just bought 4 furs for a work/birthday trip to London and Paris for December.
We settle on a full length black faux fur. It's gorgeous. I ask victor the price he said - it's 900.00 online. I think I'm doing something.. trying to negotiate haha.. I'm in school for business.. let me see if I can make something work. He said he can do $650, I said $550 and we have a deal. He accepts the offer. I immediately Zelle the money. $550. -- He stated he wouldn't charge me tax as well, great. So boom!
I'm leaving - I call my friends that are going to London with me.. I inform them that I just got a really good deal.. a fur for $550 that was $900. Super excited. I told them check him out. He said he'll take care of y'all on the price and work with you.
So I go to their website -recommending furs that will go with my friends outfits.. and I see the fur I bought.. for $499.00 - I was so furious. Not because it's $500. I clearly had no problem spending the money, I spent more lol .. I was upset because he lied and manipulated the situation and deceived me.
I know it's NYC and people finese all day. But I didn't get that vibe from them - we were connected. - turns out they're just good sales people. Love that for y'all. It's the deception I was hurt by.
So I call him and tell him I'm really upset with you, he said "Omg.. here we go." -- I said no hear me out. I dont appreciate how you manipulated me and lied to me about the price and it's cheaper online. Way cheaper.
He says - he have customers in the store, when he finish with them he'll call me back, hangs up. 3 min later he calls me back and said I'm going to still call you back when they leave because I dont appreciate the accusations youre putting on me. It's a different length.
I start to apologize because you're right, I should have asked instead of jumping to conclusions. But I'm not dumb. It says full length... it's the same fur. Plus the girl on the site is modeling the same fur - just a different color, for the same price, $499.00 - not $900.00
So he hung up on me in the middle of apologizing and I just simply sent a polite text - a little dismissive - but I figured if anything I paid full price + tax (the additional $50.00 - when he said I wouldn't be charged for tax.) just my justification to calm me down. and I love the fur. it's a look. cant wait to wear it.
Overall had a great experience being in there, until I discovered the truth which put a bad taste in my mouth forever. And I'll never shop here again or refer my friends or anyone.
I won't bash the company, go on a rant on social media - I dont even have social media at the moment lol - didnt really want to write this review because I'm putting more energy into a moment I really dont care for anymore / suppressed , but it crossed my mind when I looked through my photos to finish my mood board of outfits for the trip.

Love the fur. Hate the lies. The proof is in the pudding - photos below. - If they offer you a price - go online first before buying to reference check, Because they're cheaper online. Go in the store - try it on - order online, simple.

I recently purchased a pink fox fur coat from Mr Daniels and loved it but there was a minor issue which entailed a sleeve lining needing a little bit more finishing touches. In addition I wanted a brand labeling affixed to the item. Of course we patron can get persnickety when things aren’t going our way but at no time did any of his staff communication matched my agitation or negative energy. In fact, the maintained composure and assured me that Mr Daniels would be in touch with me. His responsiveness to my complaint was impeccably refreshing in that he listened, was not elusive in accountability and acknowledged the need to exceed my expectations by paying for my coat to be shipped back to New York from California, making the minor adjustments for which I am ashamed now for having a conniption fit over, adding my embroidered name in the lining, and getting it back to me in record time. During the interim, I purchased a fox silver jacket from eBay from a vendor and the fur ripped after one wearing because of dry rotting. The vendor sold it as a new item but obviously it is not.
