Karaoke Boho orchard was able to accommodate a last minute reservation for 6 people which was good.
The venue is pretty large, with multiple floors (I counted about 3).
When you walk in, the main bar and public karaoke area is packed with people, which makes it hard to walk to the host area.
You have to check in at the side of the bar which isn't great because there's hardly any room to stand.
We were brought to our room which was located downstairs. There are no elevators but there are karaoke rooms on the main floor that don't require stairs.
Staff were haphazardly walking around and rushing, and one staff member turned a corner so fast, he full on crashed into my boyfriend, knocking him to the other side of the wall.
The room we were given for 6 was a little too small and we were squished together.
They have two large books of songs or you can scan a QR code to view the songs digitally. You have to key them in on a keypad to put them in the queue. I prefer the karaoke venues that have an iPad for use.
Service was attentive. You have to push a button to call them and they come pretty quick.
Friends had some drinks but we did not have any food. People generally liked the drinks.
The karaoke equipment left much to be desired. One microphone hardly worked and you had to basically hold it in a certain position to get sound out. The volume on some of the songs was so low that you could barely hear the instrumentals when you were singing.
The soundproofing (or lack thereof) between rooms is bad. We could hear other rooms fully singing next to us, and it felt like they were basically in the room with us.
The temperature of the room was freezing. It was 40 degrees outside but they had the AC blasting like it was a 99 degree summer day. We asked them to raise the temperature but it never happened. The rooms do not have individual temperature control.
There are bathrooms upstairs and downstairs and they're all disgusting. There's a sink outside the two bathrooms downstairs which someone unfortunately threw up in, and no one had cleaned it the entire time we were there.
Floors all around were sticky and the staff just generally seemed overwhelmed.
3 stars because they had a large selection of songs and we accomplished what we wanted to do - sing karaoke for 2 hours and have fun.
They don't bring you the check in the private room, so you have to physically go upstairs and close out (they keep your credit card and ID when you check in). But the problem is, the check in/check out area is packed with dozens of people singing public karaoke, checking in and also checking out, so you wind up standing there for 10 minutes just to pay. You can barely hear the staff over the public karaoke that's taking place 2 ft away.
We came here because it was close to the restaurant where we had dinner, but I prefer the karaoke spots uptown in Koreatown to this one. Those are a little less chaotic/noisy and...
Read moreI came here for my birthday this year - after having come pre-COVID hundreds of times for fun - and was happy until I was very disappointed. One of the staff members tried to manipulate me and my small party of THREE (3) people to pay for drinks we did not order as well as an extra 60-120 mins that we did not even ask for - we were under the impression he had gifted us an extra drink and hour(s) for my birthday !! In regards to our drinks - he did not charge us happy hour prices though we began drinking and ordered 75% of our libations 15 minutes before happy hour ended (this I noticed as we were leaving at closing time and the sign outside reminded me that we were ordering happy hour drinks and had just paid full price (even for a drink that was given w/o request as a ‘gift’ that we ended up charged for). This is the first time karaoke boho has ever treated me this way. My sister has been bringing me for years & we would spend hours in a private room buying drinks and snacks all for a price that wouldnt break our wallet. I genuinely believe this newer staff thought we were unaware of how Karaoke Boho works, were too drunk to notice the total or THE SIGN ON THE WALL dictating how pricing works that they were not following, or too drunk to care. This all after the microphones were NOT working in our private room and we had had to get them replaced with newer mics TWICE. Which I wouldn’t have complained about since I love them usually, but seeing as how I was able to get the staff-member to remove $50 of erroneous charges and am VERY well aware that the charging of our room was inflated, I’m going to have to mention it all. I would very much appreciate and am requesting to be contacted by the manager Lee (whom I requested the staff to call when this was all going down). Not only would I like a refund for the charges, but all this disrupt occurred after this same staff member had made inappropriate passes at me (that can absolutely be seen on the security camera). Almost as if he thought flirting with me would have me not notice the erroneous charges ? Again, this behavior is bizarre for karaoke boho to my knowledge; I will be happy to change my rating to reflect how the business...
Read moreThis was our first time coming to this establishment and sadly it may be our last. We came for my husband's birthday and I have called multiple times in the week before the actual date we were going (on a Monday) to plan it out. We had around 8-10 people in our group and we were going to rent out one of the private rooms that would be $5/hour/pp because of happy hour which is a steal! Unfortunately, once we got there, the rooms are SO SMALL...there was no way our group would fit. I wish I was informed that the times I called because we ended up having to go the "VIP" room that was $200/hour but because of happy hour was $100/hour and after 8pm will go back up to $200 (?). At this point, we had no choice because we were all there and we were able to bring food and drinks of our own (which was a plus).
The room itself was (in my opinion) not worth $200/hour. The floors were sticky, the tables had some stains, the song choice books were sticky as well they do have a QR code where you can look it up on your phone, their ice machine was broken unfortunately that day, we also were not checked on AT ALL. Overall, it was an "okay" experience but I wished I had done more research and looked at some of the reviews before booking. They also require a $40 deposit to book that's...
